I'm saying that it is a sack or a TFL 85%-90% of the time against most defenses I see. I would try the I-Form, Big I or Spread screens if I were you.

Like I said, you gotta keep him there or on combo unless his confidence starts to suffer, if the confidence is sinking in games you should go back to north/south but slippery not only has SAs fire a LOT it uses blockers very effectively. You just are not going to have quite as good production directly up the gut though unless you have high footwork so you need to run more OT/outside plays. That doesn't mean you can abandon the inside though. I know a lot of people are very high on straight power but I am a fan of the nuanced movements you can get with some added mobility on a guy like that. It's going to raise his home-run potential but remember it's also two-edged. More mobility and lower physicals means a higher demand on toughness, so keep an eye on it.

Edit: actually if you are going to do returns with him do not go with slippery, for some reason it is fumble-town on returns with slippery.

- Changed QB dropback limits to allow more freedom to drop back further on screen plays, to help avoid too many sacks
- Pass rush pressure now has much less effect on screen play pass quality, since the whole point of the play is to have the defense in your QB's face

To Bort/Cdog: I'm not sure what you're considering acceptable, but through the first three games here's the data on LogZilla's FB Screens.

I FB Screen Weak - 10 times, 8 sacks.
SI FB Screen Weak - 20 times, 7 sacks.
PS FB Screen Weak - 16 times, 9 sacks.

That's 24 sacks in 46 plays.

I was actually curious if this would help or hurt some screen plays. By dropping back further, it may provide outside blitzing defenders a better chance of being able to just run around the edge on his path to the QB instead of the OT sometimes being able to pick him up. Not sure that the change really altered much with screen plays. The plays that worked still look about the same while the bad ones are still getting abused.

Unfortunately the changes didn't help much. Too many of the screens take too long to develop. Who cares if the QB feels less pressure if he can't even get a pass off. The QB needs the ability to get rid of the ball sooner if he gets pressured. He is always waiting for the HB or FB to get to the sweet spot and that takes too long.

The data above was through 4 games (not 3). Here's the update after game 5:

I FB Screen Weak - 14 times, 10 sacks. 9 of the 10 sacks came against 11 Blitzes - an 81% sack rate against the D play it's designed to beat.

SI FB Screen Weak - 25 times, 8 sacks. All 8 sacks came against 24 Blitzes - a 32% sack rate.
PS FB Screen Weak - 17 times, 10 sacks. 7 of the 10 sacks came against 11 Blitzes - a 63% sack rate.

I don't think the Changelog Screen buffs have helped.

I'm not sure the QB does dropback further, just that he can move further back during the play.

This. Perhaps it's better at Vet with final builds, but the whole idea of Screens is to take advantage of the Blitz. For Soph, my QB has 45 Consistency. That should be enough in early Soph. I'm now working on his Footwork to get him to move faster. Unfortunately, the LBs and DEs probably have 50-70 Sprinting by now so adding some Footwork isn't going to help. He's going to need a lot.

Which isn't a problem at Vet, but what do you do at lower tiers? Oh and my QB is already Gold when it comes to ZEB Play Knowledge, so there's no further bump to get from that. (Gold at early Soph!)

Not any better at Vet, even with a mobile QB. Progressions are just too long on most screens
