I thought about that. Though if someone is doing that I think it's pretty clear cheating and you can do some sort of penalty for it. In this case it's hard to fault spastic when it's a legit gamelan.

fwiw I can promise not to specifically manipulate the rules (and would be fine being kicked out or whatever if I rogue on that) to find some loophole with my running QB.

I can't promise that I will always use the same gameplan, and people calling that cheating/dirty are FOS. You're welcome to not pick my players if you're worried about them not playing.

Some good old fashioned game of thrones backstabbing up in this joint.

Insider Information was always likely in play. Simply put, you have to weigh whether the team can afford to try a lineup shakeup against their opponent or not. Spastic is no different than a Gregg Popovich, who does this all the time with the Spurs. Nothing wrong with it.

As for a solution...why not extend to a couple backups. The backups would be inserted in case the selected player(s) don't get a set number of touches. For QBs you could go to QB3. Obviously this is problematic due to the salary cap, so you would only be able to pick backups who costs less than the main selected player.

I think I have solved the problem to an extent. I have put the new code on the dev site and here is what the numbers would have looked like for my team

I can only speak for my roster and I think I picked for the most part top players this week.

QB : Hittin's Not Really Meh Thing, Coach - 6833 > 9224
HB1 : Slower than a Tortoise - 4917 > 6250
HB2 : Isaiah Pead - 4500 > 5603
WR1 : Dillan Locke - 5000 > 6379
WR2 : Wrath of God - 4833 > 6121
WR3 : Jody Teague - 4750 > 5991
TE : Jimmy Kincaid - 4917 > 6250
K : BOOOO OOOOM!! - 4083 > 4957
DEF : Saturday Night Live - 3750 > 4440

43583 > 55215

Same picks would have put me 5k over the cap so I think it is a step in the right direction.

I feel like if I were to switch a top 3 hof player out (like × Hammered × last season) for an unknown player for GLB2 strategy purposes I would at least avoid taking the unknown player in Fantasy.

How would everyone feel if I switched Quina Quen and × Hammered × one game and then I was the only one who picked Quina?

I guess the answer would be to let us see others picks in real time? That would ruin the fun.

You have to understand our perspective here Spas. It was only a matter of time before someone did it though.

This. I don't see a solution. You can still play a stud HB yet only give him 5 carries.

Anyone that gets mad at spastic is being unfair IMO. It's like the running meta right now. Can we call Rob and Deevee cheaters for taking advantage of a specific attribute? That's silly. Is it fair to bring attention to the system at place and fix it? Sure. But Cowboy ain't a bad guy and if I were playing, I'd absolutely have done the same thing given the system in place. I think others would have too.

How is that clear cheating? If a balanced team decides to pass 80% of the time and his stud HB only gets a few carries, that is a game plan change. Real life fantasy owners deal with the same thing. Try owning a Patriots HB.

Not playing is an issue tho as we have no inside information on whether a guy is going to play in the game. Defaulting to the next best salary player in those cases makes the most sense or its just an easy way to screw with people.

Guys miss real football games all the time. It's a real issue in Fantasy.

Legislating this is just a bad idea.

Pick players and get points.

If they don't play, then they don't.

Do you really want this to be a care bear thing?

I guess I agree. The blowout restrictions do enough to keep this from happening in a completely uncompetitive game so I don't see it as a big deal.

Well played Spastic!

A guy misses a football game irl you likely have enough information on it to make a rational decision. That is absolutely nothing like this game.

Now with that said, there was no way that any user can see who someone else picks until after I run the results tonight so there was no way he would have known so many picked that QB, but with the players available, hard to determine that the majority wouldn't have.

Stobie, who were the most popular players this round?

I think I can guess the QB, but outside of that, not sure.

I don't think that fix helps Stobie -- by making the player cost more - all you are doing is punishing EVEN MORE in a circumstance like this.

If fantasy is popular enough (I know fantasy wasn't the prime reason for the spas change here) - then it becomes a target for trolling (benching players / intentionally screwing with the lineup of others / etc) -- and as soon as trolling is a regular occurrence - fantasy game will simply die out
