Defenders better tighten those buttcheeks. I love the idea of play knowledge, but dear God is this rough on defenses. So few quality defensive plays. There are VERY few blitzes that aren't awful.

GE's zone D will now drift closer to normal as man defenses get slightly worse from overuse.

We really need more defensive plays added, or fixing the broken ones, or something.

With this game being paper rock scissors as far as our offensive plays versus our defensive plays is play knowledge going to actually effect things? Or wont it basically just balance things as they are now? Meaning we all run the same offensive plays and counteract with the same defense. Therefore most of the player knowledge is going to be the same of said plays, which in turn means this neither helps or hurts the overall scheme.

I think the activation chance needs to be upped even further, 75% is nice...but it's HARD to get intimidation up on Punters.


My punter on KY is this build, so I'm interested to seeing it actually work... I think last season I only saw it fire 3 or 4 times (2 in one game vs Southside though, lol sorry Dredgar).

Pretty interesting changes.

But - will this be any different than the supposed play diversity hidden bonuses??

I'm doubtful.



What will this do to the run game where there simply aren't enough run plays that work? By end of rookie defenses should likely have leveled up:
- proset sweep
- strong I sweep
- trips pitch
- big I left
- QB rollouts
etc

What then??

I'm guessing that the bonuses will/might be nice -- but won't be game breaking.

This should certainly be a big buff for balanced offenses -- and a buff for zone defense (since not many people run them).

I'm doubtful that it will make bad plays good. I hope the bonuses to O line will be strong on blitzes.


Anyway - exciting changes! Will be fun to play with.


I hope the bonuses are clearly explained

I also wish they would go ahead and explain the diversity bonus

its the same as trying to out do the other person or out scheme them. Or trying to crack the Meta before anyone else.


But in the end i believe the superior build will prevail. (With all things being equal it seems like this is evident).

By the way I am sure individuals like Rob. and Sov. they probably have already cracked and will dominate the competition. LOL

It depends on how long it takes to level up. If this is a "career" stat, then it should take several seasons to hit gold. Plus, it depends on who is in your league as well. If most teams in your league pass, then your players will not get much exp vs those plays.

Not necessarily true. It's a buff to teams that run a bunch of different plays. You can be an all run team and use more plays than a balanced team. My team will be all run but will be running from all kinds of formations.

Good point.


it will be interesting to see how fast things level up. Could be interesting if (as an example) - an all run team can excel rookie thru seasoned -- but then gets absolutely crushed journey to vet or whatever.

Could potentially force offenses to be dynamic thoughout the tiers - which (imo) is a good thing.

Also -

I've always believed (confidently) based on my own observations - skills can exceed 100 (with SA boost etc).

I assume that will be somewhat confirmed here. Let's say gold rank against trips counter gives +20 man awareness


Verbiage on the my play knowledge:
When your player plays in league or ladder games, he will earn experience towards recognition of the plays the opponent uses.

As his knowledge of each play levels up to bronze, silver and gold ranks, he will gain increasing bonuses toward his awareness and other abilities vs those plays.

Will there be speed bonuses?
Tackling bonuses?
route running?
elusive or power running bonuses?

It will be interesting - I guess we will find that out on day one.
