Overall good stuff. But I think weather in rookie ball is gonna make fairly unskilled players even worse. Kickers already don't make many kicks and now have wind against them too, high heat for first games when players have their lowest conditioning...they're gonna be crawling by the end of each half.

Solution: Less growth tiers and more seasons at Vet. As Boss recommended, front load the SP to player creation.

Result: Better "Rookies", more teams per tier, more competition at Vet with less turnover.

Interesting that progression changes don't show up in play call (on sim).

So, IF this is an impactful option (yet to be determined I think) - could potentially put a good barrier up to copy cat offenses and make the passing game finally require some effort to game plan for (though of course - continuing to run the same 5 plays is still an option)

Maybe the wind will push those missed fgs back through the fg?

Percentages. Skills can't ever go below a score of 1.

Can they go over 99?

My guess is we will have to wait for days that have that weather type and run scrims on those days.

Would be cool to select weather though for a scrim!

Percentages on the + would normally do that so unless they have specifically capped skill values they would/should.

Percentages on the - never go below 1 unless they are a full 100% reduction. Anything else yields a positive number.

Since they may have code to prevent a skill going below 1, they may also have code for a cap value. Though my guess is that it's not 100, but close. Like 105-110.

Quite frankly it's a boon to spamming 3WR Passing plays again because now every play can be tailored to a TE Primary/release. No more ever worrying about the TE being held in on Trips WR Posts, WR Cross, etc.

It helps other playbooks too, but it also helps the LogZilla 5-play spam.

I'd agree with that as well especially now with factors like weather and the 1 kicker rule in place.

Rookie is currently the gateway for any new players to the game whether agent only or coaching. the players skills were already so low that a new players entry to the game is guys who can barely function in their role. Now add heat to first few games and then rain and snow... What would make them want to continue if there isn't something like that proposal and that's how their first month or so of the game is.

I think this helps 2 WR more. You can now guarantee that there are 3 players going downfield that a defense has to cover. So with this change, you match the worst number of players that a 3WR offense has (if the TE gets held in).

So a 3WR offense could be improved by this, but the impact should be more noticeable with 2WR passing plays.

it is a positive impact to every formation. could make an argument for a lot of plays in each formation becoming that much better with the right primary.

If it is a percentage decrease in skills rookies will also lose far less of any skill in question. I understand the concern with rookie ball but at the same time we have not even seen how much of an affect these weather changes will really have. On that note, it would probably be a good idea to allow scrimmaging teams to set the weather condition for scrims since scrims are for testing and all. Also, front loading SP sounds good and all but it would also slow down player development and the excitement of continuing to raise skills in later tiers which is already not as exciting as rookie where skills cost so little to raise initially.

Also, I remembered that there are "base values". Bort has mentioned modifying base values in the past. If there are base values at Vet (maybe they only exist for the earlier tiers), then a skill value of 100 plus a base value would lead to an effective skill value of 100+.

So yes, I believe you can get skills over 100. The question is how far.

And it will hurt all those speed deamon power backs.

How much though? Nobody is going to have a clue until we begin seeing games played in various elements. It is a blanket effect across the field so defenders will need to adjust as well if it is necessary to make adjustments to builds. Bottom line is that right now we simply do not know how much of an adjustment to make if any. Watching sloppy games in messy conditions is something that most football fans enjoy. These changes could give even further reason to build a balanced offense.
