The K roster spot is a concentration of work that's known and announced a full season out? Not how badly a kicker forced to do both FGs and KOs would be, or how funky things like a WR dropping the ball wide open a lot but catching it with 8 defenders draped on him with ease...but the kicker roster spot?

So when planning work is a random topic out of hat or go with something like an order of importance to good gameplay?

the real issue is that people are running around with a sophomore level kick off player which is ridiculous. meanwhile the only thing a superstar kicker is being used for is to make a better fg kicker in most situations. they can always screw around with the way fg kicking works but it is pretty nonsensical to make people spend flex on a dot to reach 100 ko power and consistency.

The worst player last year has been good for a career 85%, and also is able to get touchbacks on kickoffs. He'd be unemployed otherwise.


I'm not a big complainer of anything, have fun with the game and will continue as long as I do. But since I've joined people have been begging for heads up on upcoming changes prior to the day before a new season and the first one I have seen given is about the kicker roster spot I just found it funny.

the only way we are going to get in line with nfl standards is removing fg kickers from being a human position. otherwise all we are doing is theorizing on how the best kicker is supposed to be built.

Yeah

76.8% FG made last season
75.9% FG made 2 seasons ago

Only made 3 field goals from 50+ yards his whole career.

To be fair, this will be his first season at veteran, and we'll see how he does, but I wouldn't really consider that fine.

He has an average kickoff to the 8 yard line. (62 yards)

I agree that having Soph K with a 50% touchback ratio is stupid, but a Veteran K is going to have to average 72 yards on Kickoffs and 75% on FGs. Kickoffs of 72 yards is 2 yards into the endzone, which ST coaches in the NFL will tell you is the target.

A S* K should be able to do 72 yards on Kickoffs with 85% on FGs.

If you want to force us to use only one Kicker, then fix the SP build costs.

kickers are already boring...the design of them is just off.


simplify things by just combining POWER into 1 skill.

might this mean that kickers improve a great deal and it becomes a little 'too' easy to be good at everything? maybe - but so what -- I bet a majority of people would be perfectly happy if every kicker in the game made 100% of extra points, 100% of field goals under 50 yards - and kicked off 70-80 yards every time.

they aren't fun now. they've never been fun. They only bring frustration and annoyance. Let's give kickers 14 seasons of an easy road...then we can reevaluate 14 seasons vs 14 seasons

S* Ks won't suck ass if you are limited to 1 per team. Currently, I think K is literally the worst thing to build with a 50 tier S* slot. This change will make it top 3 easily.
