DD vs MEM
Prediction: DD wins 28-17

1st Quarter
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1010508 - Don't you love it when your HB goes out of bounds half a yard short of the first down? This seems to happen too frequently and is maddening.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011233 - So nice he had to do it twice. This time the defender was a little closer but that's not a guaranteed stick.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011333 - Big time leg and a nice way to close the half.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011521 - This one looked like it was going to be a sure TD but Sack Demon makes an incredible effort play.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011770 - The beauty of a well executed counter play. The HB goes about 32 yards downfield before finally being touched.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011891 - So you're telling me there's a chance?!

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011914 - Nope!

Actual Result: MEM wins 22-10

Despite losing the turnover battle by 3, MEM was able to win due to solid defensive effort, by running 28 counters for 7 YPC and some timely 3rd down completions.

I'm really so tired of this containment BS, you can summarize it up all in this one play where the CB, FS, and ROLB all get held up in the same spot. This is the dumbest logic I've ever seen Bort. How is this better than the old way?

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235301/1011802

LOLB, How is this containment? He basically is forcing the HB to the outside and does absolutely nothing to influence the play. He stood there until a blocker came to him.

I get that this is a game and it isn't going to be realistic in every aspect, but this does NOT help the defense at all. It was put in as a way to limit outside rushing but it does the exact opposite of that.

GG MEM, the game was decided on your ability to shut down my offense. I hate that I ended up calling that many counters, I even turned them down some because I figured you would be vulnerable to the 2WR pass but sadly the RNG didn't play out like I hoped on play calling. Defensively we played great up until the last few minutes, but that was mainly due to the offense putting hte defense in poor situations. Was a very good game to watch and anyone that wants to see a defense shut down a balanced offense that rely's on Counters a lot just needs to queue up this game. Wished I would have put in a little more effort on my defensive plan on 3rd and Long since you always pass there but just too lazy to actually gameplan this season.

gg para, im surprised how we held up since we were allowing 60% passing to you guys. I decided to play the run this time since after DA. playing the pass didnt help at all.

I know you are grasping at straws here, but really? I'm just going to assume you are trolling and you don't need me to break this down for you.

Yea, I really thought our best shot was to pass against you guys and wanted to exploit your 2 TE defense with Counters. Ended up calling 7 2 WR Counters even though it was 3 Starred and called only 6 2 TE Counters with it 5 starred. Just now pulled up the Scout of the game, was pretty surprised that you held I TE Cross to 33%, I really thought that play would work out the best of the ones I run.

When you're done sobbing uncontrollably, realize it was a sarcastic comment in jest and calm down.

Central vs LogZilla
Prediction: Central wins 41-28

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1037314 - LogZilla marches down the field on their first drive for an easy TD
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1037456 - Big defensive play from Central to avoid letting LogZilla score again
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1037832 - Questionable decision from the HB here that ends the drive

Central is calling some interesting defensive plays against 3WR like Edge Dogs and DE flats. It doesn't cost them yet as LogZilla misses a FG.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1038358 - Another good drive from LogZilla results in another TD
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1038520 - Central tries to answer back but fizzles out in the red zone again

LogZilla adds a TD in the 3rd quarter and squanders another scoring chance by missing another FG. LogZilla heads into the 4th with a 21-9 lead.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1039364 - Central puts together a nice drive that results in a big TD. Things just got interesting.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235304/1039497 - LogZilla converts two big time 3rd downs and then marches down for a TD that may have just iced this game.

LogZilla adds 10 more points in garbage time and cruises to an easy win.

Actual Result: LogZilla wins 38-16

That makes me 0-2 on predictions so far

Hawaii vs Freakville
Prediction: Freakville wins 17-16

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1065556 - 2nd play from scrimmage!
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1065601 - And they took it right back
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1065690 - Wow, another one!
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1065993 - Freakville finishes off a nice drive with a TD
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1066096 - Hawaii tries to answer but turns it over again

Freakville up 10-0 through one quarter.

Freakville adds another TD to make it 17-0

Hawaii is driving again and then does this on 3rd and 2: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1066366
And then this on 4th and 1: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1066375

Freakville scores another TD to go up 24-0

Hawaii faces another 4th and 1, this time in their own territory and they went for it again:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235303/1066652

Freakville doesn't make them pay and misses a FG. Hawaii takes it down and gets a FG before the end of the half.

Freakville up 24-3 at half.

Freakville puts together a long drive that results in a FG and Hawaii can't get their offense going until late in the 4th when they added two TD's. Too little too late.

Freakville wins the turnover battle 5-1 and wins the game 27-17.

GG Hawaii the turnover bug got you early and often, add the failed 4th down conversions really added to that and killed you.

Madison/Hostile game still in progress

so far we've had 7, maybe 8? possessions on their side of the 50 yard line in the 1st half... and that led to only 7 total points... I've never seen that in the history of GLB2

edit: looks like our O decided to wake up the 2nd half... but good gosh, I've never seen a team move the ball so well without scoring like we did in the first half... should have scored 40-50ish today

great write-ups Rob

watching that Central defensive gameplan, not sure why they used the plays that they did... I think there are more effective plays that could have been called. Looks like we'll have our chance to try that out tomorrow morning against Logzilla. Unless our O plays better tomorrow than it did today, we won't win though.

The turning point: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/235305/1088001
Getting that TD before the half was huge. Then in the 2nd half the screens and 4WR rushes destroyed them and they couldn't do anything on offense.

yep, Duhe is arguably the best multi-purpose LB we've ever had... huge play, just when we needed it.

Freakville has been the most surprising team so far this season in Vet... we will see if they can keep it up, or will go the route of vet teams in the past that fell apart halfway through the season, like Hub City, Kentucky, and Coffee Squirrels.

Hostile's offense just fell off the map in the 2nd half.
