Counters might be a bit OP on balanced teams but honestly if you have a dline with Gold shed block they are eaten up most of the time

honestly I still think pass defense is a bigger problem. Its way too rng right now, you either stonewall or you got guys catching everything with double and sometimes triple coverage on them.

This ^^^ x1000 You have an entire thread dedicated to a few run plays that are "overpowered" according to statistics that dont discriminate between good or bad teams, situational gameplanning or any other relevant controlling factors. Meanwhile you have an entire half of the offensive/defensive picture needing a much longer look this season. The running game has been the subject of 16 of the 26 individual changes in the sim I identify since March 21st, compared to only 7 changes effecting the passing game. Most of us acknowledge there is a significant portion of the passing plays that are completely broken and dont work, while theres a few that work too well. Coverage is almost completely RNG based, receivers drop passes they should catch and catch passes they shouldnt. Let the damn counters ride for a season and show the passing game some attention.

Of the 7 teams that are currently #1 in ladder in their respective tiers (2 tied in rookie), 5 of them relied on counter plays throughout the whole season. Bronx is pretty much the only exception.
I find it ironic that the people who say the plays work fine seem to be the ones who aren't at the top of the ladder... maybe they didn't spam the counters enough.
For what it's worth, No Name was running 70 - 75% of the time this season, and most of those outside runs were counters. SACKS had a slightly lower percentage but that's mostly because we only carry 1 HB and the team was meant to be a passing team... yet we still ran way more than we wanted to this season because of how ridiculous counters are at the moment.
Funny how people complain about TE Drive, TE Post, etc... when some of these counter plays average more yards per carry compared to the yards per completion of these pass plays.
Vet
TE Post: 11.2 Yards Per Completion
SB TE Drive: 14.13 Yards Per Completion
SG TE Drive: 15.1 Yards Per Completion
TE Crosses: 10.29 Yards Per Completion
Trips HB Counter Strong: 11.26 Yards Per Carry

I never said the counters werent broken, Swampcats and the rest of my offenses abused counter plays too. I just feel that the admins spend 90% of their time on the running game side(and its somewhat improved from what it was in past seasons)it would be nice if this offseason they spent some of their time on improving aspects lacking in the passing game. I dont believe that fixing these counters while ignoring the passing game is in the best interest of the game.

Yep, lets confuse poor DCing with overpoweredness. Fuck it, just give us 1 defensive play that works against everything. Can't wait to spam ZEB and OWMB 100% of the time next season.

That's a very vague request. How about making your own thread about the passing game and changes that should be made. One of the most annoying things in this game is whenever somebody notices something wrong with this game and requests some changes, the following happens:
-All those who are abusing what is wrong defends it in the forums to protect their own team(s) instead of the good of the game
-People try to find other things that are "more important" and try to discount the discussion at hand
I used counters moderately-heavy on four different teams this season. They were wonderful but way too easy to use. I am totally fine with continuing to abuse them in future seasons if no changes are made but I don't think they are currently working as intended.

Just make them cut inside more, about where off-tackle plays go. (which is usually where counters go)
It's because they go wayyy outside that the D can't get to them (because traffic). Similar to how outside rushing used to be a few seasons ago (and QB rollouts)...which they've obviously tweaked since then.
That being said, without the FotM counters, I think rushing is in a very good spot right now. And this from a person that ran an all outside running team at the time it was nerfed.
Yeah it sucked at the time, but it's definitely a much more balanced game right now, aside from counters.

From the one game I've seen of your balanced offense my defense held you to 1.6 ypc on 10 attempts, and I was running a pass defense. Just looking at panty, they average about 3.5 ypc on counters in their last couple of games (maybe since people probably have started to figure them out more)
Please continue to abuse them then if you think they're so OP.
I'm done discussing this non-issue.
It really sucks that Corn/crew have rewarded those that complain in the forums, now everyone thinks that if they lobby hard enough, a change will be made in their favor. That's what's wrong with the game. The admins don't play it so have no idea what works/doesn't work. Then tune in to the forums and to see all this bitching and end up making blind tweaks.

Alright, before everyone wants to nerf this crap in the ground I'll list you some plays that work against Trips Counter since you guys are all too lazy to research your self.

Great job finding the team that I used them the least on and was least equipped to run them

The 3-3-5 USM Blitz that you linked first can work pretty well against the counters. You need to have a strong secondary, otherwise TE Post will eat you alive.

Honestly trips counter isnt what's broken. It's the fact that the teams using it are taking advantage of the fact you basically have to sell out vs the pass unless you want to get torched by te post and wr post all game. The defenses that work against these plays are super vulnerable to trips counter. Not to mention rush defenses are much weaker outside of a handful of teams, MeM made that pretty clear this season. Though I say the state of pass defense forcing people to run these plays has a pretty big part as well.
