What the fuck? How? No seriously how? I want some of this defensive magic to shut down GA.

My run defense is pretty good even though the Stunners abused me last season. My defense held up very well against GA last season as well, just broke down at the end when the offense kept giving the ball back up.

Providence took down Richmond, and the final score was only 20-10? Surprise defensive game. Would've assumed it was 50-40 or something.

Our outside running was really slowed down with certain defensive plays. Unfortunately some of those plays left inside running wide open - which I saw coming. If I have gone more inside running (which I almost did) we could have put up more points. Luckily our defense held up enough.

That M. Base will work really well if those lineman can eat up the blockers and allow the LBers and SS to do their jobs - Takes the right builds though.

get a 97 run defense bar.

IMO, the changes Bort's been making to the game with blocking have reached a good point. Teams that've sold out on defense to stop the run stand a reasonably good chance of actually being able to do so now. Teams that've sold out to blitz the passer can get sacks more regularly now.

Was actually thinking the same thing on the blocking, my DL was standing up very well to your OL. When playing the Stunners I never had that kind of production.

yeah, it was starting to be noticeable last season. It's very noticeable this season. TxSteve picked a good season to bow out with the Stunners IMO

I dunno how much of it's builds or the blocking SP changes finally catching up on equalizing us, but we're not the only all rushing attack this season that's struggled to move the ball against a good rushing defense. Providence vs Richmond was a 20-10 game, and those defenses aren't even in the 90s for defending the run. Wesley Chapel's done alright, but they haven't played anyone that apparently has the knowledge to defend those rollouts yet. Winnipeg's got an elite running game, and they got squashed pretty good by San Antonio's 88 bar.

We face another beastly 97 bar today against Winnipeg. Should be interesting to watch.

Or - it could just be the elephant in the room: sub par coordinating on GA.

To be fair, that game was Sub Par coordinating by me...somehow after 5+ games vs Richmond I forget that they actually pass the ball. Everytime I put in my Rush Only defense and get burned.

maybe.

73 runs averaging 4.7 against your run D.

GA - 69 for 3.2 against your run D.

almost 50% higher ypc

USC probably is trying too hard to maintain an inside running game and just need to say F it and go run outside 90% of the time. I'd guess that has much to do with the YPC difference. We had fabulous TOP against DD ultimately, just didnt' do us any good cause every drive stalled and we missed all 4 field goals for what was surely a bad morale impact.

Looked pretty much exactly the same to me.
