@ all the tears over guys not being able to exploit this football simulator. Running an unstoppable Goalline Sweep every play is arcade style game play and I never understood why any of these teams pride themselves in exploiting the system. In real life no team can run the same exact run play all game (especially Goalline) without the defense adjusting to shut the play completely down. Whatever the case I do not think removing the plays entirely was a "fix". A fix would require thought and work, a removal happens at the press of a button. Basically it was LAZY to fix things this way. The proper way to fix this would be to offer the defense an option to stop the play.
This begs another question; What is the intelligence level of a GLB defensive player characters? Don't the players we use know there is not a Goalline Passing play in their world? Are my LBs stupid? Do they not watch Game Tape to know the team they are playing only runs GOalline outside plays?
I believe "Play recognition" for defensive players and some "Defensive artificial intelligence" for repeat plays would have been an excellent addition to the game. "Play recognition" could trigger a defensive boost in Pursuit, Blitz Awareness, Tackling and Speed at a scaled rate as an increasing penalty to offenses who use the same play over and over.
Regardless I LOVE the fact that GL Sweeps have been addressed, I just think there could have been a more thoughtful plan, but I don't know the GLB ALGOS, so; GOod Work GLB2
