As long as there was nothing in short/medium/long then I believe it should've been called.

My impression with Zone was that it was sort of like Blitz, and didnt affect the run vs pass rolls. Although I honestly have zero experience with Zone. I don't think I've put zone settings in once before. (Planning on doing it this season though). So I could be wrong about Zone's effects.

Test results:

Plays used in every formation:
Medium Outside Blitz "Strong Shift"
Short Outside "Man DE Flats"
Short Inside Run Blitz "Mike Inside Fire"
Medium Outside Run ZONE D "C2 DE Flats"

My first down settings were 100 medium and 100 outside run. Everything else was zero.
20 Man DE Flats
15 Strong Shift
Stopped counting after the first 35. So the theory of just putting 100 in medium and 100 in outside and forcing the medium outside play to get called doesn't work.

2nd and 5-10, I put 100 in the short box and left everything else at zero.
Man DE flats gets called every time. It is the only short play that isn't a zone or a blitz.

On 3rd and 2 or less, I put 100 in Medium and 100 in zone.
C2 DE Flats gets called every time.

3rd and 10-13, 100 short and 100 blitz.
Strong shift gets called every time.

So I was wrong. The distance setting does matter, and you can manipulate what gets called as long as you don't have any passing plays in there to screw things up.

I don't care what is used anywhere besides short yardage. Then it has to be Short 1-2WR Inside Run Man Defense

In order to make this work, I would need to know which plays are blitz/non-blitz and which are man or zone.

oh shit actually 50 Zone/50 Outside only called the Outside Run plays. I somehow missed 0 Zone calls as well.

So no Zone, no medium Outside run at all.

So basically I was better off using my original 25 Short/25 Medium/50 Long/0 Inside/100 outside with a frequency of 1 on Mike Inside Fire and that should give me exactly what I have been looking for out of my playcalling.

Only "Blitz" plays are Strong Shift, Zone Weakside CB blitz, and Mike Inside Fire.

Zone weakside blitz is a long pass play. That complicates things. Did you have that in against all formations?

One more question, did you have any numbers in the blitz settings for those scrimmages?

Are you even reading what I am posting? lol

I have said now like 10 times that I have had 0% in everything else.

So 0% Blitz. 0% everything unless I have specifically said I put a % into it.

First game was

0% Short/0% Medium/50% Long/0% Inside/50% Outside/0% Zone/0% Blitz

Called a number of random Mike Inside Blitz's.

Second game was

25% Short/25% Medium/50% Long/0% Inside/100% Outside/0% Zone/0% Blitz

Called almost perfectly what I wanted except 2 random Mike Inside Blitz's. Although Frequency of Mike Inside Blitz was set to 5. I believe setting it to 1 would make that random call a VERY small possibility if at all.

Third game was

0% Short/0% Medium/0% Long/0% Inside/50% Outside/50% Zone/0% Blitz

Called no Strong Shift or Zone Weakside CB Blitz. Mike Inside Blitz was set to a frequency of 1 and was called perfectly.

Sorry my head is about to explode! This is a good experiment though. I think I am coming close to a breakthrough.

Kinda ridiculous us customers have to spend a shit ton of flex on scrims to test something that should have been explained on day 1. I sent a PM to support about this earlier. Not that I mind spending flex on scrims as I would regardless. But I really hate wasting all my scrims all day trying to make sense of something so fucking stupid.

I'll try using your exact plays and using my own specific tactics and see if I can get things called when I want.

I have pretty much given up on trying to figure it all out. It is just not worth the headache. Last time I asked questions like these I got a tongue lashing from some MOD guy for suggesting the system was stupid. If I just knew exactly the order of filters it would help. I have heard many conflicting answers. I've heard # of WRs is first. I've heard distance was first. The Jan 29th change helped quite a bit but caused other wonky stuff. I have no clue if I am setting my AI up proper. I have 4 plays in my 2WR package, 2-3 in my 3WR package, and 2 in all the rest. I don't think it is going to get much better than that without some clarity from a higher source. Thanks to all those testing this stuff. 10 seasons in and no one seems to have it all figured out.

In GLB1 I could write an entire DAI without tags in like a half hour and probably another half hour to make the corresponding packages, plug them in, and be set forever. Why not just have a prefabricated AI and packages rather than this monstrosity? I wouldn't exactly call this the "simple and quick" system they are attesting to.

At this point I don't care that the system is silly. I sent a PM to support asking for someone (most likely Bort since he knows exactly how it works) to come in and describe exactly how the tactics work. We are in season 10 and still running scrimmages trying to understand the basics of coordinating. That is stupid. Even more stupid is the PM I got back pretty much telling me that this is how the system works. All we want is clarification on how it works, I don't even care about changing it in this thread.
