This will be fun. Empire Trash Talking my QB Belgarath all day who's passing to jumping/diving/TD catching WR Belgarion and triggering Prime Time to offset QB Morale loss.

We'll see who can trigger it more. Your TT's or my Prime Time's.

It's going to be a fun ride these next few months.

Corndog shouldn't change a thing until we see this play out.

Empire vs. LZ Boys could turn into some epic fights. And to think I almost named my QB-WR S* combo Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker, but went with the non-used Belgariad characters.

Imperial Stromtroopers and Guards will be coming for you, Belgarath!!!

Only reason people don't think its low is because Laggo and Amagi. My hat is off to him for having built a great QB for an open passing system at a low level really is. But then like the NFL everyone tries to copycat (well the guys who read the forums) and they do so regardless of the personnel around them. If your going to throw 5 yard hooks all day...maybe so. If your trying to use a full playbook 25 is creating a single point of failure that can be exploited by the defense. Its like Miami and the wildcat..turned out Ronnie Brown and teammates where the only ones who could run it well for awhile and despite the copy's from the rest of the league it never really became more than gimmick.

However we are always going to have this "push-pull" battle between guys who want to dump all their points into 3-4 stats while ignoring the others and a community that thinks "well built" does not mean single built and that completeness should count.

Excellent post. Galithor is always complaining about anything that hurts his passing attack. How about putting some Toughness into your QB instead of adding that 95th skill point to passing tech that costs 1000 flex.

Of course it is counter-able. Toughness counters it...it says it right in the tooltip.

Another thing you guys might not be recognizing is the effect of Intimidation itself from the blitzing LB. Yes, TT makes the QB lose morale, but so does Intimidation itself. So if you stack the TT plus the Intimidation itself, that gives you more than 15 morale loss on the QB. Look at the tooltip for Intimidation..."increases pressure on the QB if this player is pass rushing". That might cause morale loss too.

I know...I've scrimmaged him a few times and he is the only team to destroy my blitzing zone defense. But my 2500 SPs just came in....my CBs are speed deamons now.

Fires on running plays too, as long as the LB is "blitzing".

Granted if you're opponent is running with the HBs it's not going to have much effect, but having a 6th LB on your team for when you your up against a passing team or running team that uses the QB... will almost be mandatory. Then just swap in a different depth chart.

Won't matter. Scrim me all season long and you'll get toasted.

Your CBs can't cover the Godslayer.

Go ahead...

Our QB doesn't have a single skill in the 90s, nor will he. Try again.

If there's a single QB (on a competitive team) in any of the first 3 seasons with more than 50 toughness, I'd be highly, highly suprised.

At the very least, Gold Trash Talk needs to do what it says it does, and start with it's cap for morale damage at 15, and not double that at 30. Even if we leave it as is, the damage getting fixed would probably be plenty of balancing.

And, for the record, rushing plays where it fired were linked too. So the Power rushing QB rollout teams are going to get hurt by this just as much going forward.

This doesn't seem that op at all to me as of yet.

Edit: and good luck against running teams that dont rely on their QB a lot if you base your D on this.

Who said you need 90+ intim. Play 2-3 LB's with gold and less intim. SA's aren't exactly amazing on linebackers anyways. Gold Trash Talk with extra morale damage from intim IS.

I'd think the best way to do it would be on a single LB that you always have in a position to blitz. That way you don't force yourself into full house blitzing that will only end very poorly. One LB spends the 35.5k SP to go 100 intimidation. Dude can still build out as a serviceable blitzbacker just fine.

He doesn't have to get sacks to do his job. You then build the rest of your LBs to handle whatever other tasks you want them to do.

I don't know if Rambo has silver or gold, or how much intimidation unfortunately. But 28 morale loss seems broken in that mix. It's in line with the other game though, which makes me think there is a bug somewhere.

Well, not 28, went from 94 to 76, which is 18 - and it's hard to know if morale loss from the dropped pass on the play before could have occurred "between plays" - or after the last tick that morale was updated on-screen in the previous play. Could very well have been -3 from that and then Trash Talk was -15.

Edit to add: Since the QB lost another 5 before the start of the next play, presumably from the dropped pass again, probably that TT loss was right in line with the others in the same game.

Wonder if it's possible to have "Critical success" - and with 99 Intim vs 40 toughness he gets critical success almost every time.
