I don't think these games are a good indication at all. All pro teams involved are pretty soft besides Salty's matchup and running is near impossible to do on pro teams, not that it matters to any other journeymen teams.

Alpine and Deeproute aren't terrible teams by any means. I mean if the only indication of how good teams are is the top 10 that is pretty silly.

Yeah, I could have answered that one after playing on the Test Server.

An entire season of SPs at rookie makes a huge difference, but an entire season of SP at the top of the game doesn't. Getting the second Gold SA will make a bigger difference in many cases.

The top level has a lack of S*s at their level, so any S*s are playing a season behind (tied with the J teams).

The biggest differences will be: the extra SAs, the extra cap booster, and a minimal increase in the top end (or a lot more rounded out builds).

Ya that gold SA is why I said by mid season there shouldn't be any real reason Journeyman teams can't compete. Then again Pro will be working on second gold SA's.

I bet we lose 2 leagues worth of pro teams this offseason. Gonna be a bunch of resets after the reaming journeyman's top half is going to give the pro midranks.

Would seem a bit strange for that to be the season a bunch of resets happen. At least for that reason. Why would you push all the way through to the end only to gut then?

because you're done with your builds, and already losing to tier -1 teams.

True but I'm just trying to put things in perspective here so everyone doesn't overreact. The teams we're playing now aren't in the top 10 for a reason.

I don't think any of the journeyman teams expect to be beating top 10 pro teams other than luckily.

Which is how it should be. The true elites of Pro are of course going to be better than the best of the Journeymen, because skill points do matter. But when you're down the ladder a bit...good tactics and great builds can overcome.

The perspective is just that Journeyman teams can compete despite the level difference. Some of these Pro teams have gone toe to toe with teams in the top 10.

That is just silly as ever. Especially considering this game is very coordinator driven.

It would be cool to see some rivalries between pro teams and journeymen teams.

I don't think Hawaii will be able to compete as much as other teams will in journeyman tier. Running is pretty hard against higher caps. Maybe some pro teams will actually have to adjust and start spending more points in pass defense once they see the onslaught of pass teams in journeyman.

The first gen builds will almost always be worse. Most people weren't inspect element building, half of the players still weren't dropping attributes below 5, trait selection wasn't as refined, lack of S*s, and a lot of poor SA choices means that the player pool selection from the first season isn't going to be as good as the future seasons.

Because they haven't seen the onslaught in pro? O_o
