I haven't seen a running QB since Rookie. When someone establishes a RQB threat in Vet, someone might care.

No, but I have two blocking TEs. I'm not using them as WRs right now because I think that is weak sauce, but I certainly could.

I used to run a two depth chart system that had all of my run blockers and blocking WRs on one side and then flipped.

As a DC, you wouldn't know which way I was going to run when I ran that system because in two clicks the entire scheme changed.

This is in no way arguing your point. I really don't care what you do it doesn't change what I do in the slightest. My all coverage defense yesterday which should be absolutely horrific at run stopping (and was against every single running team I faced this offseason) looked somewhat credible against your team.

Couple in Seasoned. But I agree I seem to remember it was fairly easy to squash them in vet play. Though I think Corndog fixed some of the rollouts since then so that 4 blockers vs. 2-3 weaker defenders isn't very ideal.

tbqh I would probably come out in a dime defense with 5 LB's against Romo if this were possible and leave quarter for 3rd and long.

Yeah, but that was before I added Barry and made adjustments to the sim. Watch my Queen City game from today and you'll see that the O has a bit more spark.

Like I said, I haven't come across any yet, so I'm skeptical of their abilities for now. They might make hay against some of the low and middle tier teams, but I doubt they will ever be anything more than a gimmick.

Well, Romo runs out of almost every formation, so he's tougher to sell out against.

Again, this sim got a lot more pass friendly for the teams that don't pass than was the case even a couple of weeks ago.

Like I couldn't have done that last season.

It was a full man coverage defense. My point was your running game wasn't exactly terrific.

Not entirely easy to stop. Though I have some ideas if I see another one after today. In rookie I am just throwing my hands up in the air.

Thats why I would use mostly a dime. It would put my LB's in pretty good position for whatever formation he comes out in. 4 WR I would have to play a little different though as the middle would be too wide open.

Well, in rookie you can't really respond because the sprinting isn't there. Three Star closing speed solves a lot of your problems with the outside run. I wish I had invested more in that than I did in Chase Down (which I thought was brilliant because CBs were having so much trouble finding the WRs... it wasn't).

Yeah, I would have been on my ass. Look how many sacks I took last season even though I was running the ball on almost every down.

Ya I am a bit sad about not 3 starring Closing Speed before moving on with a lot of my guys.

Some Zone. Only for situations I knew he would pitch. For the most part I would want man though because it would put the LB's as CB's more towards the middle of the field though deeper than using them as actual LB's giving better chase to pitches and inside run stopping.

That's really the problem... his HBs aren't the bruisers that mine are, but I'd still be worried about the inside run... he seems to go 2 inside rushes for every pitch... it is just that the pitches are homeruns or easy first downs so often because of his blockers on the outside.
