What does that mean? Are we done for the season? Is there going to be scrimmages until the playoffs are done like in GLB1?

How do the players get XP if the team is out of the playoffs?

There are two ladder games during the playoffs that finish off your player's 30 games required to reach the next career tier.

It does seem like the dev's should consider some sort of "catchup" option at the end of a season to allow players with incomplete career tier to advance to the next career tier.

What happens when these "mid-season" cut guys get to the end of their career, and they're about to get into the plateau league playoffs, but finish their careers a couple games before and can't play anymore and have to go to Legend Leagues?

I think Bort said they would get to play out the season, but that there would be "decline" to compensate for the bonus of being a finished bot playing against almost finished bots. Also they stop accumulating stats towards the HoF.

Originally, there was no "experienced" option. We explained to Bort that people would probably choose fewer games and to not be playing from behind their entire career. Bort gave us an option to choose one or the other.

Well, ladder games can't show up on the schedule until they are actually scheduled - which doesn't occur until the night of the league/playoff games for that week. So tonight, ladder games for 2 days from now will appear on the schedule. And then in 4 days, you'll see the final ladder game of the season.

Maybe it would help if there was some sort of "placeholder" ladder indicator on the page, but I'm not sure how that would work - you don't even have a time slot until the game is scheduled.

Logically extending this out, players that get cut in mid season and miss games are royally screwed for the rest of their careers. It is going to be really tough to find a team if you hit the market in free agency. My player is on a team now, but he missed out on 2 games. So at the end of this season, he will be down 6000 XP and an ability point when compared to the other free agents. A lot of owners wouldn't want him because they won't want to wait for him to level up 2 games into the new season. I think he has a solid build, but if I had to test free agency, I think I would have to retire him and start over.

That is a discouraging thought to contemplate. It is going to be a factor for people to consider when they are deciding if they want to continue playing this game. There are no apparent repercussions for owners that cut players in midseason on a whim. So an owner that is a troll could mess up a lot of players careers until the player community is able to warn us away from signing with them.

the game is new to us all. The Whore was under the assumption that day 40 was the last day of the season as far as XP. That's how it worked for years on GLB classic. I was thinking the same thing and almost asked for a release on most of my guys. It's really no big deal. He even made a suggestion that could be a quick fix for this season only.

Now that i think of it, this could be why this all happened. But i may be wrong....It doesnt change the fact that people got screwed with this issue. I got lucky and got a contract before i missed xp, but there are other guys who had to retire their player or decide to lag behind everyone else. But honestly, why not just wait until the player contracts expire just in case?

Yes, exactly. Other people cant be playing with other people's money. This game should be enjoyable for everybody. I dont know how we can eliminate this issue from happening in the future, maybe adding a league with just CPU teams that would take any player so released players can still get experience.

Should give all the players in this first season max xp on day 49.

I don't entirely understand the ability to release players after day 30 or so anyways. Is there a logical reason for allowing it?

There should just always be a "catchup on XP" button during the offseason... but with a warning that you won't earn superstar progress for any players you choose to catchup in this way, and any retirement will be at 30% flex.

They should be scolding the team owners who screw player agents, not the player agents themselves. Revoke the ability to create Superstars for account of the team owner who release players before start of the offseason.

This is our first season so we all can make mistakes on the first season but the point here should be to prevent funny business in the future.

I had a reason.

A player early in the season let me know he did not like GLB2 and would be retiring all his players at the end of the season and stopped applying SP's. I asked him today if he was sure and he said he was, so I released all 6 so I could sign players now for next season to get a head start on chemistry for those players.

How do you determine funny business vs. valid reasons?

Also, I have a player who has been inactive since middle December. Should I release him and screw him, but continue to hinder my team with a player who has never applied any SP's? I have benched him to be a nice guy, but the reality is there are reasons to release players from time to time.

A " catchup" option really is the best solution for this. There's no good reason for someone to not be evenly tiered going into a new season.

Yeah, people not logging in to apply SPs to the players. If they don't care, why not give someone who wants to be on a roster a chance?
