I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. The survivor pool is a common NFL pool, I just added the "can't pick against the same team twice" rule and applied it to the World League.

As far as how it became the pool it is today, I just started the thread in season 12 and people seemed to like it. People like tautology donated flex to make it even more meaningful and the popularity continued to grow. It was popular enough when the pool purging happened that it was one of the few to survive and is now supported solely by GLB. I think they are working on a way to automate it in the future, but so far have yet to program anything.
