WEEK 3 - LION
1 Carthaginian War Elephants (3-0) - CWE comes through with another big win over the Turtles. Week 5 against Massawa is shaping up to look like a nice match-up.

2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (3-0) - A dominating first half was just enough to get Fulham a narrow win as they held off Cagliari in the second half.

3 Cagliari Outbreak (2-1) - It was almost like watching two different games when they played Fulham. The first half was all Fulham as they took a 29-6 lead but then the Outbreak mounted a comeback attempt and dominated the second half 21-3. The 2 turnovers might very well have cost them this game.

4 Massawa Redhorns (3-0) - A strong first quarter and a stingy defense keep the Redhorns undefeated.

5 Franchise (2-1) - A dominating performance this week as they jumped all over the Bandits.

6 Wallachia Wamphyri (2-1) - The Wamphyri met their first real contest this week and came away with a disappointing loss. The offense struggled to get the ball in the endzone as they only scored 1 TD. They fell into an early 0-21 hole in the 1st quarter that they could never recover from.

7 San Francisco Demons (2-1) - A week after a tough 2 point loss to Massawa the Demons come back strong against Sahara. The first half was slow going and the Demons had a close 13-6 lead to open the second half. A 4th quarter eruption of points secured a victory for the Demons though. They might have struggles a bit with their passing but the run game was on point today and the defense was playing some top notch football out there.

8 Kenya Diggits (1-2) - Kenya found their run game this week and managed to pull off a huge win. The Diggits lost the turnover battle and did not control the clock for more time but what they did in the second half was let loose that offense that put up a ton of points in two losses this season.

9 IRONTON TANKS (1-2) - Ironton did a decent job running the ball but needed more out of their run game to hold their slight lead at the start of the second half. After controlling the clock and winning the turnover battle they just could not stop Kenya in the second half.

10 Sahara Storm (1-2) - Sahara had a tough time getting a run game going and once they started falling behind the gap just got wider and wider. They do have a shot at some wins in the upcoming wins but they're going to have get their offense moving again.

11 Sterling Bulldawgs (1-2) - Sterling managed to mount a little comeback for the win this week. Although their defense got gashed on the ground they managed to hold down against the Undertakers pass attack while the Bulldawgs offense played a solid game of ball control.

12 Sun City Undertakers (1-2) - A week after mounting a comeback win against WYB the Undertakers fell victim to a comeback from another team. With a 14-6 lead to open the second half, Sun City saw Sterling outscore them 10-0 in the 3rd Q to take a slight 14-16 lead. SCU came back and scored a TD in the 4th to make it 21-16 but Sterling would again reverse their fortunes by scoring the last 10 points of the game to hand Sun City a loss.

13 West Yorkshire Bandits (1-2) - A rough game for WYB. They had trouble mounting any offense and the defense took a massive beating.

14 LHC Naked Turtles (1-2) - LHC fell behind early and couldn't keep pace with the Elephants. The run game looked solid but they just couldn't get enough out of their passing attack to stay in this one. A few turnovers and a defense that was gashed for an an average of over 10 ypc did not help matters.

15 Uganda Silverbacks (1-2) - Uganda fought hard to stay in this one and were down 17-19 at the start of the 4th. A 24-0 4th Q secured them a big win though. Credit must be given to their defense as they posted 3 pick sixes in the last 16 minutes of the game. The game might have swung the other way if not for those big plays.

16 Zambezi Silverbacks (0-3) - With all of Zambezi's struggles on offense the defense actually played a solid game. They stuffed the run and while they gave up 272 yds passing it was only at 48% completion. The 3 INTs most likely cost them this game since they probably could have converted at least one of those into a FG that might have gotten them a 22-20 win.

WEEK 2 - ELEPHANT
1 Nairobi Warthogs (3-0) - Week 4 could be the Warthogs first real challenge... that's if there are any challenges for them this season.

2 Sons of Anubis (3-0) - If any team looks to have a shot at Nairobi it's the Sons. Good match-up this week for them to show whether or not they can continue to dominate teams.

3 The Dead Presidents (3-0) - TDP has outscored opponents 158-25 through 3 games. As impressive as that is they face a Nairobi team thats averaging almost 100 points a game this week.

4 Zimbabwe Rebels (2-1) - A tight game through the 1st quarter but then the Rebels unloaded for 63 points the rest of the game to put it to bed.

5 Windhoek White Rhinos (2-1) - Huge win for the Rhinos. They took a 14-0 halftime lead that turned into a battle in the second half as BSS would eventually tie the game up with 2 minutes remaining in regulation. With a minute left BSS gave up a 24 yd pass play on 3rd & 6 (http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1309304&pbp_id=4211392) that would set the Rhinos up for the winning FG.

6 Guyana Generalissimo's (2-1) - Guyana has looked impressive in their 2 wins but in retrospect those 2 victories came against two of the lowest ranked teams in their conferences. They'll need to prove that they are for real over the next 3 weeks.

7 Angola Blood Diamonds (2-1) - Very impressive win for ABD as they shut down TAP for 4 quarters and came away with a 56-0 win.

8 The African Predators (2-1) - A shutout loss that saw the Predators struggle on all facets of the game. The Predators can't afford too many of these this early in the season because the second half of their schedule gets brutal.

9 Ivory Coast Breakers (2-1) - Great game for the Breakers. They took a nice lead in the 3rd only to see the game tied up in the 4th but they fought back for the win.

10 Black Sea Sunami (1-2) - A tough loss for BSS. They fought back to tie it up with 2 minutes left but then lost the game after giving up a big pass play with time winding down.

11 The Black Hand (0-3) - So many heart breaking losses this week. TBH held a 4 point lead to open the second half but ICBs 17 point 3rd quarter put the Hand behind 10 points. THB fought back to tie it up in the 4th only to see the Breakers score the winning TD with 6 minutes remaining.

12 Kickin Djibouti (0-3) - Things get a little easier the next few weeks but right now it's hard to think that Kickin can manage to pull out more than 1 win in that stretch regardless.

13 Wrightstown Tigers (0-3) - The Tigers are struggling right now and there's not much breathing room in their schedule the next few weeks. Things could ugly fast if they don't start putting up some wins.

14 MaRAWK!!o Evil Aces (1-2) - MEA has a shot to get a few wins the next 2 weeks to get over .500. The 1 point win over Darfur doesn't give much confidence however so they'll need to step it up a notch.

15 Darfur Depopulators (0-3) - Tough loss to the #1 ranked team right now. Not sure when things will lighten up for Darfur at this point of the season.

16 Ron's Texans (0-3) - The Texans showed marginal improvement this week as they posted twice the amount of points that they had in their first 2 games combined. A lot of work still needs to be done though.

Ok, enough. You made me snort out my coffee when i read this.

This was the exact thought I had after watching our game. "Hrm, well, at least we doubled our total points output."

Well played.

We're going to get a win this week.

Tough decision there for me but they really only moved up because Wallachia dropped down so far and I didn't feel losing to Fulham by such a narrow margin was enough to drop them. My 3-5 rankings were all tough choices since I can see Franchise beating Massawa as of today so I could have easily flip flopped the 4 & 5 spots but until some more games get played I still feel Cagliara deserves to be under CWE & Fulham.

If I have the time I might throw in a play or two for games that come down to the wire like I did for Windhoek this week.

Wait! what? No. That isn't in my plan. Please wait an additional week to get a win. 0-4 is much more auspicious than 1-3 in most numerology systems.
