Week 13 Lion Predictions
GOTW

West Yorkshire vs LHC
I expect this to be the BEST Lion game to this point of the season for LHC. Two teams that have faced each other in the past get set to go at it another time. The outcome could change the landscape of the top 4 playoff teams. WYB has only lost 1 game all season long and has been just as effective as LHC against similar opponents but at this stage of the game LHC is the odds on favorite in every game they play (32 game win streak also adding to LHCs favor).

Stockholm vs Carson City
As if it mattered.

Rapid City vs Cambridge
Two 8-4 teams fight for the chance to slip into a top 4 spot. The Sioux have to have the edge when they are around 10-15 levels higher than the Chieftains. All I know is that in a few short hours someone is getting scalped!

Phoenix City vs Ghana
Bye

Colonial vs Port Harcourt
Bye

Denver vs Botswana
Bye

Nigeria vs Morocco
Bye

Sterling vs Kalahari
Another game that could shake-up the playoff structure this week. That makes 3 games that could really alter the seeding from top to bottom. This should be another good game this week and would have gotten top spot if not for the gem that should be the LHC game. I've got to go with Sterling based on outcomes against similar opponents.

Week 13 Elephant Predictions
GOTW

Mayotte vs Barcelona
I could have gone with Somalia/Covington as GOTW this time since they are both 9-3 and chasing down a home playoff spot. I decided to go with this game though because both teams have been floundering a little lately and both need to take a turn soon. While neither team is in jeopardy of missing the playoffs they both need to turn their fortunes around and this game has big seeding implications. MMM is on the verge of losing a home playoff game while Barcelona has taken a step drop in their ranking as well. This is a very tough game to call but, as I said earlier in the season, the level of inactivity on Barcelona's roster scares me away from picking them.

Toro vs Blacc's
Bye

Cape Town vs Nile Valley
Cape Town has been a hard team to read. On paper they have a solid team but against top teams they've done worse than Nile has with a much lower level roster. But when Cape faced a few middle teams they fared better than Nile did. Both teams are fighting for the 8th seed if just barely. I'm going to throw caution to the wind and pick the younger Vipers.

Mogadishu vs Nigerian
Bye

Mario vs Zimbabwe
Bye

P-Town vs Alexandria
Bye

Somalia vs Covington
Big game for both teams. I'm liking Covington here if they can avoid any sim setbacks. Should be a solid game that comes down to the wire.

Warri vs San Antonio
The Warriors will fall quickly to the poisonous Venom.

Some really good games yesterday. Should make it interesting for the playoff matchups at very least, as well as for any potential rematches!

Week 13 Lion Rankings
1 Sterling Bulldawgs (13-0) - Sterling jumped out to a 27-3 lead at halftime to take home an easy win. They'll get a week off before heading off to LHC in an effort to finish the season off undefeated and retain the #1 seed. A loss there will create some turmoil in the top 3 seeds.
Next up: Ghana

2 West Yorkshire Bandits (12-1) - The Bandits did the unthinkable and toppled LHC in sound fashion this week. With no one left that poses a challenge they'll have their eyes focused on the week 15 matchup between LHC & Sterling. A Sterling loss could create an opportunity for the Bandits to take the #1 seed.
Next up: Carson City

3 LHC Naked Turtles (12-1) - The Turtles suffered their first defeat of the season after falling behind 6-20 in the first half. Their offense stuttered with no run game support and the defense didn't help them out a whole lot. Things were bad right off the start with WYB returning the opening kickoff for a TD and they just got worse through the first half. They'll have a week to recover before facing the only undefeated team remaining in Lion.
Next up: Phoenix City

4 Nigeria Nightmares (10-3) - Nigeria is clinging on the 4 seed right now. Their week 15 game will be instrumental in retaining the 4th seed. They have no other challenges outside of that game.
Next up: Botswana

5 Kalahari Night Riders (9-4) - Kalahari stumbled this week against Sterling. They fell behind early and could not muster much offense. With Colonial & Rapid City dogging their heels in the coming weeks they'll have to stay on their toes to prevent falling in the seeding.
Next up: Colonial

6 Rapid City Sioux (9-4) - The Sioux came out swinging this week as they took a 41-3 lead going into halftime. The only challenge left is Kalahari and that is shaping up to be a great game.
Next up: Port Harcourt

7 Cambridge Chieftains (8-5) - The Chieftains fell hard to Rapid City. With Nigeria in week 15 they will have to be careful. Another loss could drop them to the 8th seed if Colonial wins out.
Next up: Denver

8 Colonial Zoners (7-5) - Tough schedule remaining for the Zoners. Kalahari & LHC will give them some tough games. Colonial should be able to beat Ghana but will that be enough to stay in the playoffs?
Next up: Kalahari

9 Botswana Bone Breakers (6-7) - With Nigeria coming up next week that should eliminate Botswana from any playoff talks 100%.
Next up: Nigeria

10 Ghana Rhea (7-6) - Another tough schedule to finish off the season. It's hard to see Ghana picking up another win this season.
Next up: Sterling

11 Morocco Snake Charmers (4-9) - They should pick up one more win this season. At best 2 wins.
Next up: Stockholm

12 Denver Assassins (3-10) - Another loss.
Next up: Cambridge

13 Carson City Cadillacs (2-11) - That was one hard fought game considering Stockholm is a CPU team.
Next up: West Yorkshire

14 Stockholm Polarbears (1-12) - Another loss.
Next up: Morocco

15 Phoenix City Warriors (1-12) - Another loss.
Next up: LHC

16 Port Harcourt Playmakers (0-13) - Another loss.
Next up: Rapid City

Week 13 Elephant Rankings
1 Zimbabwe Rebels (13-0) - Coasting for the rest of the season.
Next up: P-Town

2 Blacc's Bastards (11-2) - The Bastards have a tough 2 game stretch to prove they've earned to stay at the #2 spot. The outcomes of both games will affect the playoff seedings.
Next up: MMM

3 Covington Black Knights (9-4) - Covington loses another close game that saw them go into halftime with a 7-0 lead before being shutout in the second half. The good news is that they don't have to play any other tough teams this season but if this was another AI problem that led to their loss than the Knights will have to do something to find out the problem and get it fixed in the coming games.
Next up: Mogadishu

4 Mayotte Metal Militia (10-3) - Another tough loss for the Militia. Their schedule is not going to get any easier and they really need to start taking down some of the tougher teams because right now things aren't looking good once the playoffs start.
Next up: Blacc's

5 San Antonio Venom (9-4) - San Antonio's schedule isn't brutal and the week 16 game against MMM is looking like it could decide where both teams land in the seeding.
Next up: Toro

6 Barcelona Blaze (9-4) - A solid win over MMM doesn't do much for them in my rankings but if they can win out I see them moving up a little again. Somalia will be their last challenge.
Next up: Somalia

7 Somalia Warlords (10-3) - Another case where I won't be moving a team in the rankings this week. Yes they beat Covington and now have a better record but with Barcelona and Blacc's the next 2 weeks they could easily fall to 10-5 while Covington will finish 12-4 with no problem. If the Warlords can win the next 2 games they will undoubtedly be making a move at a home playoff game.
Next up: Barcelona

8 Warri Delta Warriors (6-7) - The next 2 weeks will decide the Warriors playoff fate. If they lose both they are out. Everything could hinge on week 15 against Alexandria.
Next up: Nile Valley

9 Cape Town Great Whites (5-8) - Still fighting an uphill battle when it comes to the playoffs thanks to week 15 game with Zimbabwe. Warri would love to see them beat Alexandria though.
Next up: Alexandria

10 Alexandria Barbarians (6-7) - The Barbarians are almost back to .500 for the first time since week 4. The next 3 games are winnable if not easy ones. They have to have the most exciting run at a playoff spot of any team in the league. From 3-7 and basically done to a 3 win streak and a 6-7 record. They'll have to win out to make it but right now they are looking like a threat to Warri.
Next up: Cape Town

11 Mario Maniacs (5-8) - Last win of the season coming up.
Next up: Nigerian

12 Nile Valley Vipers (5-8) - Officially eliminated now.
Next up: Warri

13 Mogadishu Juggernaut (3-10) - That was their last win of the season.
Next up: Covington

14 Toro Nation (2-11) - Another loss
Next up: San Antonio

15 Nigerian Nightmares (0-13) - Another loss.
Next up: Mario

16 P-Town Ballaz (0-13) - Another loss.
Next up: Zimbabwe

That had to be one of the best weeks so far this season and there are still some important games left to be played.

Definitely one of the best, if not the best for at least most of the closest games.

Maybe for next season. Barely have time to do these right now since I'm already recruiting for next season. Remind me in the offseason and I'll let you know.

Week 14 Lion Predictions
GOTW

Kalahari vs Colonial
Only 1 game separates these two teams but they are far apart talent wise. Kalahari should jump out early and take an easy win.

Botswana vs Nigeria
Bye

Carson City vs West Yorkshire
Bye

Cambridge vs Denver
Bye

Port Harcourt vs Rapid City
Bye

LHC vs Phoenix City
Bye

Morocco vs Stockholm
Bye

Ghana vs Sterling
Ghana has feasted on low ranked teams but against mid to upper tier teams they have fallen flat. That pattern continues here.

Week 14 Elephant Predictions
GOTW

Blacc's vs MMM
It was just a short while ago that MMM held the #2 seed and was undefeated. Over the last 4 weeks they've lost 3 games though. The Bastards had a similar schedule to MMM and were overlooked a bit because of the softness of their schedule. Looking back I realized that the only losses the Bastards have had all season were to the last 2 undefeated teams in the league. They've also been more successful the last few weeks taking down some of the top teams in the conference. With a little more depth on the team to assist I see the Bastards notching up another win to retain the #2 seed for another week.

Covington vs Mogadishu
Bye

Nigerian vs Mario
Bye

Barcelona vs Somalia
Neither team is in jeopardy of elimination from a playoff spot and this should be a very good game. The Blaze have been on a bit of a spiral lately but look to be bouncing back after a solid win over MMM. Somalia's chemistry could be an issue here but either team could take this one.

Nile Valley vs Warri
The Warriors should be able to take this one easily.

Alexandria vs Cape Town
Logic says this is Cape Town's game to win with the level advantages. I think Alexandria wants this win more though so I'm going with my gut. Besides, who doesn't love an underdog story.

San Antonio vs Toro
Bye

Zimbabwe vs P-Town
Bye

Good luck everyone today...

To be honest, I'm close too calling it quits with this game and giving my team back. I'm very frustrated with this whole season.

The worst part is when you have blatant issues with the sim's basic functions and they're working on restructuring leagues, revising morale (yet again) and making CPU players better.

I would rather deal with some blowout wins against crap CPU wins while Bort focuses on fixing actual sim/AI problems. There would not be so many CPU teams if the sim functioned properly 100% of the time.

+1

It's definitely a sad state of affairs when more of the active posters and agents like drez, ec, and others (including myself) feel the frustration levels to such an extent. I have been myself trying to justify the dollar and time expense of the game (owning two teams, being active in forums - private and public, having a stable of 40+ players, recruiting, gameplanning, etc) vs what the game offers me, but at this point, what I have realized is that I have an investment into this site and because we still receive a portion of our player's flex back when we retire them, I'm probably going to be around for a long time still.

My sentiments exactly. There have definitely been a few times I was ready to walk away from the game but getting flex back upon retiring players has kept me around. Not to mention that I have a strong desire to get our team further up the ladder since we've gotten this far.

Will I spend more money on the game? I don't plan to but you never know. With my next batch of retirees I should be around at least another 3-4 seasons though if not longer. But with the state of the sim constantly evolving while never getting much better I don't plan on lining anyone's pockets anytime soon any more than I already have.

Due to the reasons stated in the above posts, this will be the last season for Rapid City. If for some reason I do renew the team it would be a CPU only team.

Luxuary Taxes, Moral, Salary Caps all implemented this season are detrimental to the game, especially when we still have:
blow out games
no two point conversions
no on side kicks
WR that stop at the end of their routes
studdering running backs
fb's that don't pick up blocks
You rarely play the same teams two seasons in a row because of all the league shifting.

it's all very sad. Oh how I miss season 1 and season 2 of this game.

With that said, can you guys let me have the championship this season. Thanks.. if not, we'll we will try to pull every trick out of the book we can find and cheat if we have too. Just tell me your password
