Catch or Bort should take all the teams that meet the criteria to fill open WPL spots. Then put those teams in a controlled tournament run by Bort. Sort of like those boxing simulations where Ali fights Tyson. All they would need to do is create a golden copy of the current Production Server and load it into the test server. Know you can run the tournament in the test server fairly quick. Everyone gets a 24 hour period to set basic tactics and chemistry is thrown out the windoe. Best dots win. Run round one, execute a cycle, run round 2, etc, etc, etc....Post the game results in a thread and make something interesting around here instead of the normal bullshit that goes around.

Edit - I rambled that off so there are flaws, but it can easily be done

Exactly why I said throw chemistry out and it would be played after players sign on day 42. I am guessing most teams are making changes for the better of their team...

They basically can't because they are making changes to the Production Servers. That is why they would need to take a copy of Day 40 Production and load it into a test region. Not all that difficult to do, but we would only be able to see posted replays of the game that Bort could post.

42 is no good either since teams dont likely field a roster in that many days.

i do like your idea and was thinking of a suggestion a week ago. Extend the season by a few days (decrease the offseason by these days) and have all CC game losers from different regions play in a tournament (starting right after they lose the CC game). Hard to get a suggestion noticed enough to go epic and even harder to get it from epic to applied so i didnt feel like making the effort
