Curtis Martin is going to the Hall of Fame. Thats a hell of a career if Peterson can get that level. But Peterson is injury prone. Has been since he was a sooner. He wont get to the level Martin is unless he becomes bionic.

I still laugh at the broken collar bone from showboating into the end zone.

I agree, Curtis is one of my favorite backs of all time. He went about every very quite but damn was he good. Won me a couple fantasy championships as well.

hey man, i still stand by my statement even though i was wrong due to looking up bad football sites. Im a man and i made a mistake on that. For that, i am sorry.

But i will still argue the fact that Torrettas career and what he did as a quarterback makes him arguably better than vince young. The running stats are good but his passing was average. Torretta was a pure quarterback who played in two title games, winning 1, along with a Heisman Trophy.

You actually helped my arguement as it took Young 3 years to throw for 6k yards and Torretta 2 years to throw 7k......although he did play one game as a sophmore where he threw for 468 yards against SDSU, which is still a Hurricanes record.

His passing was average? He led the NCAA is passing efficiency, that's not average.

That was exactly a prolific and complicated passing game they ran for him. Not saying he COULDN'T have done better in a more complex system.... but that offense was all about run, drop back and run, throw a 7 yard out, and throw it deep a few times a game.

Most of the QBs we've mentioned in this thread would have had great efficiency numbers in that simplified passing game.

Not knocking it, because it worked beautifully, but to say that it was a high powered, complicated passing offense that he had those efficiency numbers in isn't being genuine.

"He had a brief flirtation with the starting job during his redshirt freshman season of 1989, starting four games while Erickson was shelved with a fractured finger on his throwing hand. He returned to a reserve role when Erickson came back the following week to complete Miami's 11-1 national championship season.
Torretta played sparingly in 1990 as a sophomore, seeing only mop-up duty but playing in all 11 regular season games of a 10-2 season.

Just fwi, look at Youngs freshman stats. Young's sophomore and junior seasons were better than Torretta's junior and senior seasons. You just need to admit that Torretta was a bad arguement and you are just trying to hate on VY.

Look, I just said his passing shouldn't have been called average. By the way...you're a aggsy what do you know of a complicated, high powered offense...

His passer rating during the NC year was 163.9, again not average. It seems to debate with you is useless, since you are a moron.

Trust me im not hating vince young. Far from it. As a matter of fact i was a HUGE fan of his during that title run. I cant FUCKING STAND ohio st. so when he beat there ass i was cheering him on. When those overrated assholes from USC was getting all the glamour about being the "Greatest team ever". I supported Vince Young.

Ill stand by it, Gino's career is arguably better than vince youngs. one of many qb's that could be argued. call it a clash of opinions.

I'm glad we've got resident 12 year olds on here to talk smack.

You are the type that give people like Buddy a bad name.

Would it have taken 45 to be a "good" offense?

His record of 3000 passing yards with 1000 rushing yards during his junior year has never been done before in the history of college football. To ignore that piece of history means that you either just hate on VY or choose to not accept the difficulty of that feat. Either way it's just sour grapes...
