It's more a matter of style. I don't think it's possible (for instance) to play competitively at the top level of this game with a mobile, highly agile, pass-blocking based O-line and a high-powered spread offense (in the season 13 sim).

Teams that emphasized powerful O-lines and and powerful run-stuffing defense have a big advantage right now...does that mean those builds are inherently better?

(Also, I realize that your said "difference in builds" and not necessarily "better builds.")

USAPL is pretty weak right now.

Still, they're a solid team with equal levels. The difference between the "haves" and "have nots" this season is pretty insane.

I think some of the perceived problems with pancakes and the sim are actually problems with slow building and ALGs.

Edit: changed "a lot" to "some"

QFT

Although most of the top O-lines right now are still pretty damn agile and and good at pass blocking.

That is a big part of it, yes. Some teams like KC got killed by the sim, while it helped others. But honestly if I had to speculate I would say it did not hurt nor help CB.

Well, taking the best players from the two best teams in USAPL last season (aka they were each better than the Mice already), I imagine the Blaze should be vastly superior to any pro team.

Blaze weren't in USAPL last season.

Historically, we (the Mice) played Chocolate City very closely before the merge with the Blaze, but they almost always came out a little bit ahead.

We only played the Blaze once or twice and I simply didn't have an answer for them. It was before tagging, but still, they were solidly ahead of us talent-wise. So anyway, I agree, it's no surprise that we can't quite compete with the Blaze at this point, even though the changes in the sim seem to have favored us this year.

I do think we could play the game a lot closer if both sides gameplanned, though, as that tends to equalize things a bit...but there is no doubt that we're still playing catch-up. But that's okay, we're happy with the progress we've made, and think we could be competitive with more than half of the WL teams right now, even if we're not on par with the league's elite.
