Can't really blame anybody. Going to WL is pretty much a demotion.

I think this one is on WWR. If all the agents prefer to stay in the apl then that's a different story but how does a team with 2 APL titles and finished 16-0 last year decline promotion?

Agreed. GRitS is taking the majority of the heat but I don't blame them for wanting to win an APL title. They fought all the way up through most of Africa and have been chipping away at the title for years now. They truly do have unfinished business. WWR though I truthfully don't understand why they declined promotion. The Lion conference is a shell of it's former self, Rwanda is gone, both Angolas, Seychelles, DeS. WWR really has nothing left to prove in APL and they probably could have done a pretty good job in the WL. Certainly could have been a playoff team in top heavy Alpha.

We went to the WL, it was the most un-fun season of GLB ever. We don't really want to go back there for multiple reasons, one being the fact that the forums are so un-enjoyable. We would prefer to have fun playing this game.

Also, we didn't win APL or APL Lion... If we are going to be promoted, it will be because we earned it and got a trophy; not because the team that one didn't want to accept promotion.

I agree the WL sucks.

That said, at least WWR has tasted gold twice, and already been conference champs three times. Compared to GRiTS who's got no shiny pro trophies.

Think that means many would argue that WWR that are probably the most qualified team in APL.

Cool, want a trophy too? Make your team better. Unless we win the league, we don't feel like we deserve to go up to WL. We don't play for second place, or being "good enough..." We play for the Gold Trophy, and until we win another in APL, we won't be going to the next level.

Excuse me, I was under the assumption that the two winners of each conference would be promoted to the WL. What those two teams do with their spots is frankly up to them. Mad that APL isn't being represented? Blame the two teams that EARNED the promotion and then gutted. Better yet, blame the system that now has teams being forced to re-load over half their rosters every season from here on out. Don't come pointing fingers at the third and fourth place teams demanding they go "represent" africa in the WL. Who cares about the WL? We'd prefer to win a team trophy and move up when we are allotted to move up. Declining promotion was optional, let me repeat, optional for second and third place and so on teams in line. We made our optional decision. Don't like it, get over it, you don't run our team. Instead, go focus on making your team better so maybe you can make it to the WL one day. But as it is, we could care less what your opinion is.

Might as well request demotion to AA, same result, boring season of beating up on fresh meat.

The only "Bitch Move" I see is you calling us out in the APL forum. Say what you want about me... but RJ is a great guy, and is probably doing what's best for his team and his agents. He doesn't have to answer to you or anyone else. He's a 100% honorable guy. Anyone that says different obviously doesn't know what they are talking about...

On top of that... I love how guys are saying they are ashamed to be in the APL. You guys are just followers! You hear the criticisms of the outside and decide to jump on the bandwagon... seriously!?!?!?!

And I normally wouldn't respond to this stuff... its just drama... but I actually love the APL. My players LOVE the APL.

I use to have respect for all its owners, treat EVERYONE with respect and tried to set good examples. Put together fantasy leagues that everyone has enjoyed. Helped with the APL Hall of Fame... and sent GL/GG PMS (win or lose) to team when I had a chance.

You new teams that are coming in and talking smack are a joke. Do SOMETHING before you think you have a voice.

hays23, what are you even doing in here? If your team sucks so bad (the impression you are giving all of us) then why are you not recruiting at this very moment?

Also... Its a new season guys... lots of teams are (including ours) is losing half its players to retirement. I'm not sure why everyone thinks its going to be a cake walk for us? I do thank you for the respect... But come on guys, get out there and recruit!

Especially the teams that say "Move me to another region"... tbh, you'd probably be a AA or AAA team. Get your teams up to Pro standards and people wouldn't be talking about how bad the APL is... Have some self respect fellas!

my team doesnt suck, and i never said it did. what i am saying is that you've proven you can beat up on this league. you've won titles here. you won 18 games in a row last season. how is staying here and doing that again not a serious cop out? i know you're a good guy, but it just baffles me why you'd want to stay here when you've already done everything there is to do here. if you love this league so much bring some extra players here. there are plenty of teams that would've given you spots.
