Their LDE looked like he did that quite a bit, just got the tackle broken every time.

Sick beat.

Actually, it kinda looks like the LDE jumps for the pass and falls. He's ON the HB a good amount of time while the ball is in the air.

So, yeah could be high YAC or bad pass defense by the LDE.

lol at 9 of top 10 dots in receiving are HB's in WL.

oh well, cowardly dots or not we spammed the shit out of the screen today. The Wangs get another shot next game. This is the Marauders last season so it does not matter to me if they are overlooked for the GLB Honor hall of fame.

Truth be told, they did a damn fine job of stopping the screen. The offense only scored 1 TD. We had a PR TD and Defensive FR for a TD.

I have a lot of respect for you Tautology, but I don't think you should be making comments like these until you watch the game. We defend the screen probably as well as anybody out there. But take a look at these plays and tell me what I could do as a DC to improve it:

For the most part, we defended it very well, despite getting 5 TOs, their offense only mustered 3 FGs and 1 TD. We lost the game due to the 3 fumbles and 2 INTs, no doubt about it.

Here's the regular season game between TKW and Singapore: http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=780578. TKW also turned the ball over 4 times in that game, but the defense were able to hold them to 181 yards. The only difference this time around is that they basically took our defense out of the game.

I'm not going to bitch about it, they did whatever it gave them the best chance to win. I'm more pissed about this crappy sim than anything else.

Well those replays look like two different defenses...covered in the first two replays. The others are just the same plays. The first one, the SS and MLB are in man (assuming the SS was HB and the MLB was FB) and there are 5 defenders on the weak side vs 4 strong side. SS in man without move imo. It actually wasn't that bad of a play even where he was, but in the replays I saw, he missed tackles and two would have been for a loss...The second play, the SS was in zone which is pretty much why that didn't work.

TKW would have lost even without the screen spams - they scored 6 points, Singapore scored 14 on special teams and defense. It was more the defense forcing turnovers than the offense spamming screens. tbh, the screen spams didn't even work that well from what I saw.

You are right, I hadn't watched the game...also, I was not directing my comments towards you, but making a rather general statement in response to other rather general statements...my apologies.

Yes, it does look as though you defended the screen adequately...you just got beat by some nasty HBs. The same thing happened to us with Jedi Knight, and Bonn does similar damage with their two HBs. Edward Bailey is also a menace on those plays.

Folks talk about outside blocker being uber (which it mostly is) but the reality is that a good defense can still usually get 2 tacklers on the HB before much damage is done.

If the HB in question can over-power those 2 or so tacklers on a regular basis (through jukes, power through or speed)....that's when the real damage is done.

From the looks of the game, I would say the screen strategy was only a small part of the victory...you definitely had some RNG running against you, though Singapore has always played a hard-hitting fumble forcing defense....their dots were on fire today and yours were napping.

It sucks...but at least you will get another shot next season.

Congrats on a great season, even if it ended with a little bit of a whimper.

And congrats to Singapore as well for a great season.

The SS really is not the issue here. The DE should have made the play.

They are good backs no doubt, but our defenders are not scrubs either. The outside blocker is certainly over powered, but the whole HB receiving sequence is a bit much as well. I have no idea how Bort codes these things, but when the DE is right there with the HB, it shouldn't be that easy for the HB to catch the ball. But they catch it pretty much 100% of the time.

Then there's the VAs for the Scatbacks, they'll make bruiser look like child play. Bruiser get you +45% to break tackle, but short yardage monster will give +60% to break tackle and YAC attack will give +75%, both of these will be on for HB screens. Stack them up and these HBs are monsters behind the LOS.

So as DC, 1) you can't prevent them from catching the ball; 2) It's very difficult to tackle them when they catch the ball and behind the LOS; 3) once they get past that first missed tackle, they'll be running behind 3 overpowered blockers;

Thanks to VAs, the sim is just fucked up and totally unbalanced. I'm just really glad we are not going to have coaches next season, I just can't imagine how much more fucked it will be with additional options to stack.

Or it could just be really bad sim coding. How hard is it to cover a 5 yard pass when you are right there with the HB. The DEs were on -100 and they passed the vision check each time and were right no the spot most of the times.
