You know whats funny about this? Not only did the forum creators stop being active in that forum 2 seasons ago, but the team that started the forum, disbanded, sold and is now a rebuild team. The funniest thing to me about it is, the people that say things like "keep their foul mouths and bad attitudes in their private forum" are people who arent even part of it.

I'm not going to sit here and say I visit it anymore since we got promoted, but today I thought I'd check out how AA is doing since I'm betting we're getting demoted back down (we're getting spanked hard in AAA, too many level differences to overcome for my team and my game planning abilities) and I still see comments like this about a forum thats filled with completely different people than when it started. I'm not even so sure theres anybody left in that forum that was in it originally when airhead first started making his comments about it.


At any rate, I agree...theres pretty much no point to that forum at all. It was merely to get away from the spam. TBH, I dont know why it was still used last season, the cats didnt do too much spamming then I dont think.

However on a side note, was pretty funny to see the cats in their new forum..how they spammed it just like they did this one when they first entered it. My guess is its a tradition to spam a forum when they first enter a new league.

I will say that we all really appreciate Gable doing the write ups. It is hard work, and he always finds the time to give us something good to read. It makes the league that much more fun and I think it promotes a more active league.

While I can't dispute the fact that the private forum is pretty much all about Garuda, it is not by design. At the end of the day, the write ups need to be done by someone in the conference. Aside from the first game of the year, we don't play each other til the playoffs (at which time the write ups apply to everyone.) so what use would it be for a Garuda guy doing the Naga write ups. We do not know your teams as well, and I for one would not put much weight on predictions done by a conference outsider. When the private forum was made, most of the posters in SEA AA#2 forum were Garuda based agents, so when invites were sent to everyone posting, naturally not many Naga guys asked to join. Even now, I don't see anyone from Naga posting with any regularity in this forum, and I sure don't see anyone from Naga making any write ups or anything like that. It does take a lot of time to do, and I understand people are busy with day to day happenings, but it does not give you, Johnb21, the right to get mad at Naga's exclusion in the private forum considering Naga in essence excluded itself.

Regardless of what happened in the past, the private forum is very friendly and peaceful. Any problems people experienced in the past have been taken care of, and it is a great place for everyone to converge.

I for one always overlooked the Laser Cats rants and spamming, had begun to find it comedic, but I also understand how it was abrasive to most of SEA when they arrived here. Since my team's conception (Season 5), the Laser Cats have been a fixture in the leagues we were in. When they got promoted, we got promoted. This time around they got things together much quicker and are now gone. I know many will laugh at this next part, but I kind of miss them. Regardless of their forum hijinx, they were always tough opponents and were a great test to see what your team was all about. With that said, for the vast majority, it was a necessity to start the private forum and give everyone a place (especially those new to the Laser Cats) somewhere to meet and have real discussion without having to go through 4 pages of IMO and TBH just to read a couple of posts related to the topic. I always just skimmed over them, and got to the meat, but I know many people just get annoyed. It got to be too much for a lot of guys and killed this forum. Contrary to what some believe, this forum was dead before the private forum got its start. The private forum was more or less born out of necessity.


As for Airhead, I have always enjoyed your company, and I understood where you were coming from back when the forum began. I am a lot like you in that when I stand up for something and meet resistance it only gives me more reason to fight harder for my point. In this case, you were just looking out for everyone that was shunned from the private forum. While it was a great thing to stand up for everyone, you also have to understand that the private forum has come a long way, and if it is what works (especially for Garuda) perhaps we can all give another go at it and you rejoin. When it began, it started as a place that only excluded the Laser Cats. But after a few days, and a couple of posts started with the best intentions, people started getting kicked out for showing any support for the Laser Cats, and that was the wrong way to handle things. If I remember correctly, after a week or so of the forum being started, Airhead suggested that perhaps we should give some of the Laser Cats more "behaved" members access to the private forum to promote unity within the leage. This really stirred up some of the guys and the word fights began. Soon followed several Cats supporters getting booted. So to the newer members of SEA AA#2 I would say, give Airhead a little slack here. The original private forum was a little out of line with some of the bans. But now we can move forward, and leave the messy past in the past.



At the end of the day guys, there are private forums for everything, and since it started up, the private forum has been much more active than this one ever was. For everyone that wants to keep up to date on things, just ask for an invite and we will get you one. If you don't want to be a part of it, no problem. If someone really wanted to get this one started back up, then go for it. If someone wants Naga write ups, predictions and rankings, get them started. I know everyone can see the same situation from their own angle and come up with their own rendition of it, but I also know that everyone can come together and see it from the same perspective if we listen to each other. There is no reason we can't have both forums. Join if you want, or stay here if you want. We would all love to have more people in the pricate forum to make the conversation more inclusive, and I am sure most of us would love for this forum to be more active, but we all need to get over these simple issues before we can move forward. Hopefully we can all "see the light" and get the football talk started. After all, a new season is about to start and my Bills are going to be shitty once again, but at least my GLB team the Billz brings a little honor and pride to Buffalo

Now lets all get ready for some football, leave the hard feelings on the gridiron.

P.S. Sorry for the long "rant" type post, but when I got home from work at 1 a.m. (all jacked up on red bull) and reread this whole post it occured to me that things needed to be straightened out and put in perspective. Being one of the guys that has been here for the whole "Laser Cats saga" (they should seriously make a movie on youtube, lol), I felt that I could help everyone newer to the situation better understand how we got to where we are and move past it. I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I had to tell it how it is

tl;dr. Funny you say that Naga excluded itself yet maybe the reason noone from Naga posts is because it is a Garuda Private Forum. All you see is Garuda in there and it is well understandable why Naga doesn't post in there. The forum isn;t active really any more than this one tbh

If you read more carefully what I said, I was making the point that when the private forum was created, no one from Naga really asked for an invite. The private forum was meant to replace this forum for all of SEA AA#2. The name is not Garuda private forum, it is SEA AA#2 private forum. If you didn't ask for an invite you didn't get one. And to say that the private forum is no more active is false. When I logged on today, there were 4 posts with new comments in teh private forum as opposed to this thread being the only active one in this forum for quite some time. Like I said above, if you would like to join the private forum and post Naga write ups, I am sure we would welcome you with open arms, but I don't see the point of one of the Garuda guys doing write ups for Naga when no one from Naga seems interrested anyway.
