i like this system...even though i finally got a team but because i had to work all the teams were taken when i got home and i felt that it wasnt fair that i had been an active participant on the site longer than some of the owners...this is a lot fairer than being on at the exact moment of adding teams...some control will be nice for you guys but i also think there's a good demand already for players hunting human teams..add on the rest of the season and i think there will still be a lot of teams needed...unless the dead time of no trading loses interest for the ones that come here for the action and quite a few loses interest...we will have to see the effect of this...i dont really know but i think owners and players alike sort of enjoy the looking and signing of contracts...

but good job on putting in this system...

Can you start to limit team ownership. I don't want to penalize someone who has been here longer then I have, but to have people with 5 teams while others are clamoring just to get one doesn't seem fair. Can you cap the old owners at 3 teams which have to be in seperate leagues (discourage collusion)?

Case by case is the best answer I can give. Yes, we want to encourage team continuity. We don't want people just adding a GM to their team for the sole purpose of circumventing the system, though.

If owners can't sell their teams for FP it seems more likely to me it would open the door to accounts being sold for real money. If an owner needs to sell his team or doesn't plan to renew it he should at least have the option of selling it to someone on the team. Just don't let the prices be negotiable, use the same prices as if they sold it back to the league.

Personally I liked the fastest fingers method.. With a list based on signup date people joining right now are going to have a really long wait if 5% of people get on the list. I joined on day 3 this season, almost 40,000 accounts have been created since then, even if only a fourth of them are legit and 5% of the legit ones get on the list that is 500.

Is there a timescale for the creation of this waiting list?

Will we be aware of our position on the list once we sign up?

I think its a great idea, maybe add a minimum time you have to play the game for before you are allowed to buy a team so newbies get to learn the basics first

The waiting list is sorted by account creation date. By the time any newbie gets a chance at owning a team, he'd no longer be a newbie.

What about the possibility an owner sell his team to a GM ? Will that still be possible or not ?

What about reading the thread before replying? Look at page 4 for the selling to GM question

Also, what about an option about whether to get a new team or whether you're also interested in taking over a team that has been abandoned? It strikes me (as someone who is very interested in getting a team) that there is a big difference between getting a team in a hypothetical new Eastern Europe A league vs getting a team in say Canada AAA that has been abandoned. Just a thought.
