Here's the thing . . . not that I care that the Greats lost a game, because I think it's kind of amusing that nfratami got bounced on his ass already. But RobertRJS has never been anything but a good sport and the type of player this game needs, and it's this kind of bullshit that is making so many of them leave.

Could the Crusaders have stayed closer to the Devils if we ran 100% nothing but HB Strong I Slams? Maybe, maybe not . . . but honestly I wouldn't have cared. It's a cheap way to play the game, in my opinion, and I was actually annoyed with myself that our team ran it as much as we did today. People put a ton of time and energy into this game, and for it to come down to who decides to sell out to a single play vs. who doesn't honestly kind of sucks.

It is what it is, tho, right? Bottom line is that the Greats lost and the next team to play the Pygmys had better bite the bullet and run 100% Strong I Slams as well, and just see who can win the "Exploit Bowl". That's what this season's playoffs will come down to . . . who can run it up the middle the best.

This. Personally, I think RobertRJS is a good dude, as is addddd(not sure how many 'd's)um.

The thing that really bites about it is that I do NOT want to have to run this sort of thing with my other teams, but you get to the point where you don't have a ton of choice, you know? Running this sort of AI on offense shortens the game to the point that each team only has 4-5 possessions, total, for the entire game. So . . . you either score, EVERY time you get the ball, or you may not touch it enough to win.

What's the most guaranteed way to move the ball and keep it in your offense's hands? Dun...dun...dun....The Strong I Inside HB Slam.

Comes down to where you have to run it because you're afraid the other team will and then you'll be screwed... if the other team doesn't then you're an exploiter and a dick. Damn close to a Lose/Lose situation, except if you run it you actually have a chance to win and advance and as posted earlier, "You play to win the game." Sucks but its not like Bort and Co haven't known about it for a long time now. Benitos losing was probably the best thing that could have happened as now that a "legend" team lost it becomes a huge issue to fix.

I only made this thread to fuck with you guys cuz you all fucked with us after our brutal mid season crash.

But to add some light on the strong I slam, we have been beat by it this season. The Toros did some Rushing BS to us earlier this season, we lost our tourney game from the strong I slam and we beat the wilds doing it.

So you shouldnt of been surpised to see it in the playoffs and I'm shocked you guys didn't use it

First off...the Strong I run IS stoppable if you throw the right stuff at it. I only know because I've stopped teams this season in other leagues where teams have tried that against us. It's not an easy play to stop, but it's not impossible as it seems to be laid out by a lot of guys here.

Secondly, I can't believe you're still stuck on the game against us....it wasn't rushing BS, it was looking at how awful your defense against the Singleback was and taking full advantage of it. Your defense was ASKING to get eaten alive by a team that would run a lot from that formation so stop the bitching and moaning about it.

All in all....it's just a whole lot of irony to see the Greats out after all the crap they enjoyed talking so very much. I knew a team that could gameplan would beat them if they figured it out and someone did. It may be "cheap" but if you can't stop it, it's a way to win and that is ultimately the goal is it not?

It happened to us and two other teams I'm on. It's fucked. I hope Uganda wins it all, we should have won it two seasons ago but we had that great record. As 3rd seed, we should win it all. Whatever.......

What peeves me though is the cowards that say the Greats choked, the Greats suck - which we don't and didn't.

We came into this game with integrity, in the end it smacked us in the face. Of course Pygmy did the whole Slam exploit, but I don't blame them.. they knew they couldn't win straight up, their backs were against the wall.
