Which is exactly why we need a stat that shows how many yards per completed pass a corner has given up. We need to know if a corner has forced a QB to throw really short passes to a WR, or of they've allowed a ton of big ones.

Plus a (Season YAC - Game YAC)/(Season YAC) is a good indicator however a bitch to attribute to one corner since this is a receiver specific stat. Just by going to game log stats and comparing YAC game to YAC season. Thats tight coverage.

edit: This was just off the top of my head.

(Season YAC - Game YAC)/(Season YAC) ---> A slope equation essentially. The value closer to 1, the more dominant. Closer to 0 or god forbid negative, YIKES

finally, something we can agree on. lol... i think everyone realizes that CB's need SOMETHING more in stat tracking.

and BTW, a quick glance at the passing D stats, it also tells a different story. looks like our two conferences are a little different in the fact that ours like to pass a little more. most of ours is at the high end of passing D, while most of your teams are at the lower end.

However, let's be honest. CBs have nothing at all on offensive linemen, as far as needing more stats goes.

Just clicky on the category and they are sortable as well. For example scroll to the bottom to find the best pass defense

And please, I'm not saying that anyones team here is bad, im just using that as an example. i really truly do not want this to turn into a "your team sucks" thread. its not my intent.

Don't worry. We won't fit you with concrete shoes just yet. Its an ambiguous proposition to define quality through limited quantitative statistics. Plus there is that silly emotional attachment to familiar players. Admittedly, I am likely to give more credit to players in my conference than in the other based upon known strength and comparable performances. Its won't be a "your team sucks" thead, just a "your player sucks" thread. jk

dont forget "your conference sucks!"

Great point...this may be an endless argument for both sides. Hopefully we can all work something out and make this work b/c it's a great idea.

I have some thoughts, I just don't think they would go over too well.

[My apologies in advance for the long post here]

Ok…so my ballot for the Oceania A Zeta Conference is hereby cast.
I tried to avoid voting for teammates, but there were a few positions where fellow teammates stood out above others and deserve the nod. And I refuse to vote for my players.

So here are my votes (in alphabetical order by position):

QB: Ron Paul Revolution / Gross Rexman

RB: Randolf McAnderson / Runnin McLovin

FB: Phillip Fredrick / Bronson Minotaur

WR: Neon Branch / Josh Hurst / Adame Seward

TE: G-reg Get-hed / Pollack Irish

OT: Lord Humongus / Slim McGrew / Andrew “Roy”Symonds

G: Lazy Drunk / Larry Lunkhead / Cal Naughton Jr.

C: Brick Bonecrusher / Hugh Jape

DE: Dexter Manley 72 / Hey QB!You Throw Like a Girl / Monster Kill

DT: Gunter Fettwanst / Mike Patterson / Smitty McGullicutty

LB: Clint Basher / Cheeks Pounder / Sak Impact / Pierre Woulds / Trey Rayner
(I went 5 deep rather than breaking it down into 3 OLBs and 2 MLBs)

CB: ESPN3 Tillman / Flavor Flav / Sticky Ricky

FS: Jimmy Vulmer / Wardell Hendrix

SS: Al “Hammerhead” Horton / Jeffrey Dahmer

K: K Neptune

P: Jay Bizzle

What can I say: Hurst is just tearing it up out there: nearly 300+ yards beyond the competition at that position on the year! Although, you may want to invest in some stick'em for him

I have to admit, the regular season team standings are misleading with the talent out there: there is an unbelievable amount of talent spread out in Zeta this year. You can make a case for many players at each position. I am looking forward how the final ballot count comes out.
