Spent like a liberal? Funny how you associate spending with the Democrats when when the Republicans have run up the debt more in their terms than the Democrats. For a party that is pro-less government they sure have a habit of spending more money and getting less benefits than the Democrats do.


And hence why the republican party was ousted by people who usually vote with their conservative views. Like I said, I'm all for government spending on national defense. That's one of the primary jobs of the federal government. But if you're going to spend for national defense, you have to cut the social programs that are just as responsible for increasing the national debt. Bush didn't do that, and the entire party lost their core support and got ousted.

The problem is Bush didn't spend on national defense, he spent on un-needed national offense. 3 trillion for a war that yields nothing, no benefit, no loss except in human lives and monetary terms. What do you think would have been more effective for Bush's purpose? We could have paid each Iraqi citizen $100,000, to all 28 million of them and still come out ahead of the 3 trillion this war is going to cost us. You give me $100,000 and I sure as hell won't fight against you. And you guys are worried about a 1 trillion bail out package to help Americans? You complain about socialism? Well your party is spending 3 times that amount to liberate people who don't even live in this country!!!!! We'll allow the US government to spend money on helping people, so long as they aren't our own people. The irony is astounding.
