Spent like a liberal? Funny how you associate spending with the Democrats when when the Republicans have run up the debt more in their terms than the Democrats. For a party that is pro-less government they sure have a habit of spending more money and getting less benefits than the Democrats do.
And hence why the republican party was ousted by people who usually vote with their conservative views. Like I said, I'm all for government spending on national defense. That's one of the primary jobs of the federal government. But if you're going to spend for national defense, you have to cut the social programs that are just as responsible for increasing the national debt. Bush didn't do that, and the entire party lost their core support and got ousted.
