Hey Cosmo I have a question, Could you include behind the teams what Division they are in? For it would be nice to see where the teams stack up by division too, and I don't think you would have to change anything, but just add a (Z) or a (A) behind the teams, and that way we can see where the divisions (and how tough they are) stack up?

Thanks and great writeup once again!

Wow, now that I have added those, we can see that once again Zeta is the tougher conference, so GL to Alpha in the playoffs, for you guys have (out of 32 teams) 8 of the bottom 16 teams, and you guys have 7 of the bottom 12, so Damn well strength of record is BS on this, sorry Cosmo, but there is no comparision, ever since I have been an owner it seems that Zeta has always been the tougher conference from top to bottom, and........

With that said, Zeta will win it all this season! We have all been tested damn near every game but 2-4, Tasmania (Why?), and Redcliffe are pushovers, and Alaska and Intergallactic just need to actually use AI once in a while and they would be competitive.

Like I said no disrespect meant to you Cosmo, for your hard work is appreciated, but the Strength of record, seriously, needs to be addressed, look at Komodo, Decatur, and more. Zeta is the Black and Blue Division as always, and Alpha once again, yep 4th season in a row, has more patsy's in it, bottom line. -Chief Bootnaka

Sorry Chief, but your statement is full of fallacy. Zeta is a tougher conference but I guarantee that BDR and the Cowboys would have the same record if they were in Zeta. They are the 2 best teams in the entire league.

I think my teammates and I at Sydney would argue that statement

well, the fact is that since we play only 1 cross division game, comparing all 32 teams is highly inaccurate. More appropriately, this should be thought of as strength of record within your division. And don't think of it as strength of schedule, though I did mention how it pertains to Cocaine. Once all the games are played everybody in their respective division will have the same strength of schedule, the only difference being the 1 cross division game they played.

"Strength of Record = (Total number of wins of opponents you have defeated) - (Total number of losses of opponents that have beaten you)
This is measure of how good a team is. It rewards beating good teams and punishes for losing to bad teams."

But, even for the 1 cross division game, if a team from alpha beats a team from zeta who goes 15-1, that's a huge boost to strength of record for them and will likely boost them to the lead if they maintain their winning ways.

Again, I think it's appropriate to look at these separated by division because it MAY be easier to win in omega division while iota is really tough, and this simple spreadsheet can't say whether or not a win was easy.

A level 48 QB might have something to do with that...

I am not sure that you would have the same record, but I think you would still be in the Top 3, just based on how you run your team, and the great player's that you guys, and the Top 5 teams in Alpha have.

Also, I want to reiterate that you are doing a great job, and I definitely enjoy these posts, but I was looking them over and it didn't make sense to me at all. I meant NO disrespect at all. Thanks, and yes Ahoda, you have to go through the Cowboys, and Sydney, yeah right, nothing against you or your great team, but I will tell you that when or if you face them, you will see what they have for you. They are far and above the rest of the competition right now, and the only way they lose is if they get bored.

Ahoda, and I do believe that you and the Cowboys, and probably 2-3 others would be ultra competitive in Zeta, but you would have to face better teams from the middle of the pack to the bottom. For the top teams in both leagues are there for a reason. So, don't take as disrespect, take it as my opinion, and I know that you are NOT very opinionated at all, but that is my opinion, and that is it.

I don't think that's right. Even if you just look at the in-conference games, the SOS (strength of schedule) will not be even. For example, compare the top and bottom teams in Zeta (I think most of us can agree, at least for these purposes, that Sydney is the top team and Redcliffe is the bottom). The SOS for Sydney will necessarily be weaker than the SOS for Redcliffe because Sydney doesn't play Sydney, so its schedule doesn't include the toughest team in the conference, but includes Redcliffe, the weakest team. On the other hand, Redcliffe's schedule doesn't include Redcliffe (the weakest team), but includes Sydney (the strongest team).

In other words, Redcliffe's SOS will be higher than that of any other team in the conference, only because it doesn't play itself. Likewise, Sydney's SOS will be lower than that of any other team in the conference, because it doesn't play itself.

Because we all play each of the other 15 conference teams, your SOS will be inversely proportional to the strength of your team -- before you factor in the non-conference game.

Also, there's a rumor going around that Ahoda's shit don't stink.
