Can you explain again why we care about power rankings in leagues we're not in?

Maybe We can move up in the ranks this week....we are currently at #7, but have soundly beaten the #4 and #2 teams on the list...

We were just lucky that they stayed up with the strippers. We're not any good, just lucky. The Vacationers have a great team. Maybe now we can go down to the bottom of the rankings where we belong

Yes, clearly, beating another undefeated team to remain undefeated is a sign that we should be dropping in the power rankings.
