I figured we'd drop from previous rankings. We're playing against the teams that most others numbers faced earlier in the season. It will all balance out here shortly.

ok lets put it this way who is Stafford?

He's a decent QB (big arm, but forces passes a lot) who was so overrated coming in to Georgia that Georgia fans all feel they have to defend him. Before this year his stats weren't that good but "he was a winner." This year he's thrown a little more and has a lot more yards, but he lost to both the good SEC teams this year and a big rival in GT .

how did stafford play in those games?

outside of UF, he put up 30 pts and 42 pts in loses. In an SEC game, that should always be good enough to win.

and if you want to get technical, UGA won the East last year, just lost out on a tie breaker to decide who played in the SEC championship. I think we can all agree that UGA would have beaten that LSU team that barely escaped UT.

How did UGA do against UT that year? Why would you even use that as the reason UGA coulda beat them when UGA got dominated by Tennessee last year? And sure, you can't pin Stafford for both those losses this year, in fact he was awesome against GT. Except for the fact that it was a close game and his pick six was the difference. And he didn't help against Bama. He piled up garbage yards and TDs after the game was over and they only broke 30 points cause of special teams anyway....

yeah, we lost to UT.

ok.

you still didn't mention anything about that fact that we would have destory LSU. no team was playing better ball. After the UT game, the team changed for the better and started playing with a swagger that I've never seen from a UGA team.

its the main reason we were preseason number 1.

without a horrible trend of injuries this year, all of the freak injuries to key positions, i think UGA would have been a completely different team.

you think Tebow would have been able to run against us with Jeff Ownen clogging up the middle like he did last year?

do you think with an All SEC LOT protecting Stafford blindside, or even his number one back-up there that we would have had the massive problems with protection?

Stafford pick 6 was in the first half on saturday and we went into the locker room up 28-12. It was NOT the game winning TD.

That rests on the defense, both tatics and poor tackling. The long TD runs were both plays in which the defense was out of position, yet still made it to the ball only to hit like a little girl.

having to sit here and defend stafford is asinine. anyone who has actaully watched him play this year would be a moron to try and call him a overrated QB. He's lived up to every expectation, even this year, when it would have been easy to come up with excuses why he didn't perform.

Yes! Tebow still had 2 rushing TD's last year.

On Edit: I'm not sure why you keep bringing Tebow into this discussion. No one ever contended that Tebow would be a better NFL QB than Stafford. I would recommend Tebow stay another year to work on his mechanics which is the weak part of his game.

But if they both left for the draft today, I would say Stafford would be drafted ahead of Tebow.

because our inability to bottle him up this year was key in the loss. he converted countless 3rd and shorts to keep drives going.

he did have a little success last year, but for the most part we contained him. i think we sacked him 7 times. that didn't happen this year.

The pick in the GT game may not have come when the game was on the line, but had that not happened I think Georgia wins the ball game. He did play a great game other than that. And it helped that Mohomed Massequoi played incredibly too. The defense was the reason they lost the game, but the pick definitely hurt. To say it didn't is just being hard headed. But like I said the guy did throw 5 TDs and 400 yards.

And about the Gators playing Georgia... I don't know if Tebow could have run on you, but they have more ways than him running to score points. Which I think they would've done. Fairly easily.

Inability to bottle him up? He didn't run all over you guys this year. He only had 39 rushing yards. The "key to your loss" believe it or not, was your QB's 3 interceptions and your RB's fumble which resulted in a 21 point swing and unmeasurable moral damage. The kicker left some points on the field too.

Actually it was only 2.

3rd and 4 at FLA 48 Tim Tebow rush for 5 yards to the Geo 47 for a 1ST down.
3rd and 1 at FLA 29 Tim Tebow rush for 1 yard to the Fla 30 for a 1ST down.

as painful as it was to relive what I already sat through in person, I found some more... maybe not "countless" but it definitely shows a weakness in the defensive line.

4:16 1st Fla 3-1 at Fla29 Tebow rush left for 2 yards to the Fla31.
7:37 2nd Fla 4-1 at UGa1 Tebow rush middle for 1 yard for a TOUCHDOWN.
8:26 3rd Fla 1-10 at UGa1 Tebow rush left for 1 yard for a TOUCHDOWN.
6:22 3rd Fla 3-2 at Fla44 Tebow rush middle for 4 yards to the Fla48.
3:53 3rd Fla 2-7 at UGa7 Tebow rush middle for 7 yards for a TOUCHDOWN.

All that, combined with only 1 sack.

Last year his stat line rushing was 13 rushes, -15 yards, and 6 sacks for 40 yards.

this year, tebow was only sacked once.

======

it was a terrible game. i'm done reliving it.

haha

Tebow was banged up pretty bad in the game last year if I remember right. I realize I sound like a UF fan, but I guarantee I am not.

What injury? Expect Harvin to play and run all over UA.
