Please explain these "handouts" you speak of.

...take from the "rich" and give to the "poor"...

be more specific. When are they happening? How much will it be? How do you define "rich" and "poor"?

Nothing specific has been laid out. Lots of talk about change, lots of talk about tax breaks for low incomes, lots talk, but no specifics.

I haven't heard talk except taking away Bush's tax cuts for >250K. Everyone below gets a tax cut (at least according to Obama's proposal). Not quite sure if this tax cut is considered a "handout" by you ... if so then yes a lot of people are getting "hand outs" I guess.

LOTS of people all of the country get LOTS of handouts. Nope, I don't consider tax cuts to be hand outs. Taxes are WAY too high as is...too many people getting too many handouts.

Here is one, I was in line at @ 10pm at a grocery store-(we realized we were out of milk and had to get it for the kids). The gal in front of me was out with her two kids buying food for her and the two kids with her. She had two separate piles to buy-one WITH food stamps, one without. Guess what was in the one that wasnt for food stamps-CIGARETTES.

Now if you smoke that is your business, but when I pay higher taxes to subsidize this, it bothers me. I live in MO and our taxes are too low-(cant believe I said taxes too low, LOL) on cigarettes. Hell make em 10 or 15 a pack. But then the politicians would just blow thru that too, and they wouldnt reduce my taxes.

Obama SAYS he will cut taxes for people below 250k, but Biden said something different, and so have other dem leaders. My philosophy talk is cheap. DEMs have a strong history of tax and spend. That is what concerns me.

(Plus that nut job Pelosi )

I dont really either, because DEMS tend to raise, but not take away. Hell they might move to something I like-for instance cheeseburgers or Coca-Cola. LOL

I do agree cigarettes should be taxed far more too (more healthcare required to take care of the idiots who smoke, myself included for the record). You want to talk about tax and spend. I'd have more issues with cutting taxes and spending more, which was the Bush mantra. So basically you had Republican tax policy with a Democratic spending policy. Is that simple enough to fully explain all of our economic failures? No. But it's absolutely true and you're welcome to compare Bush's budget plans in comparison to any other President in history, even adjusted for inflation.

I'd say common sense is one of the most underrated attributes ever....
