reminder was sent to Rick Blaine. the request has been forwarded to Bort. All we can do now is cross our fingers.

We also need two more participants right? Assuming Helsinki takes Mannheim's place, we'll still need either Dublin/London and FMA? If one or the other doesn't step up, then I would recommend contacting the London Pounds from Zeta as well. They've been in the playoffs the last two seasons and barely missed it this season (due to terrible CPU special teams play). They have a ridiculous offense that can put up points in a hurry.

Let's hope this happens. If not, we will have to settle for Jay and Wally up with us next season...unless Bort is gonna do the multiple team movement thing.

in a perfect world this all makes sense.. but what's going to happen when teams start to fold? Things will be back like they are now (which I don't think is all that bad).
Teams still have to lose too.. What's going to happen to morale in this super conference after the end of the first season when a lot of good teams are under .500 and out of the playoffs?

Whether or not the conference is built this way, after realignment our teams *should* still end up with other teams that are roughly the same in competitiveness. Whether or not we chose those teams is the only real question.
I think it's great actually that a conference is super competitive... it means we'll probably see #1 seeds with a couple losses, fringe teams are going to be scrapping till the last game of the season, and leaderboards aren't going to be filled with worthless stats against cupcakes. But yeah, that competitiveness will likely only last a season once teams start getting sold/gutted after the losing hits again.

The Vols will never be sold and 1 season with all those teams would be worth it.

i would think the next step would be Bort sending messages to the individual owners asking if this is ok. Having to move back to A however might be a deal breaker for the Ax.

thing is... I think WE6, as it is, is one of the most competitive conferences out there.. I think Western Europe, in general, is a good example of what is right with GLB... and I just do not support breaking that up.

I am head coach of two teams - Tilburg and one in Canada A.
I worked my but off building both teams in the same image more or less.
Moose rolled this season finishing 14-2. Tilburg scratched and clawed to finish 11-5.
All of this, plus what I see every game, tells me WE6 is a super competitive league as it is.
I want to build a team that can beat everyone else and transition eventually up to the pro league and win it all there.
You guys are talking about creating a super competitive league of all playoff teams. If you think it out far enough... that means a team that would finish with a say 10-6 record and make the playoffs under the current scenario, would be the weak link in the chain of the super conference and be the one instead finishing 2-14 and hating life.

That's the thing though... even if this "super" conference didn't exist, the realignment would, in theory, still put together a group of teams that should be at the same competitive level. Jay's proposal just brings together active, great teams that we know would have a lot of fun talking ish to each other. Even if the realignment were totally random, all the Pancake Bunny/Trojan Magnum teams would still drop to the lowest tiers, and all the continually competitive teams would move up according to Bort's criteria. We would all still be matched up with good squads, but in this case, we KNOW all the other squads.

My goal is to build Tilburg into a Pro level team and win a championship on that level.
I simply do not see how this "solution" helps me in my quest.

It doesn't help you, because now there will be 10 teams that will beat you down instead of only 5 or 6

I believe it is the goal of all the owners that would be in the new conference to make it to the pro level. I know it is mine. It is easier to move up now with only about 3 teams that can stop us from going to AA but as Wally said realignment is coming regardless and we are going to have a much tougher road starting next season. If I have to be in a conference with 15 teams that can beat us anyway I would rather it be 15 teams I already know and enjoy playing this game with. Everybody in the new conference would know each other and the team that that wins it would have accomplished something great. Like I said I want to make it to the pros but I don't want it to be a cake walk.
