No Deathblade had it right. It is random. Protector does not work on anything but LT. Lead block does work on pulling guards. Aura of intimidation only works on defense. I do not know about blitz. It's random, making it harder to get that uber equipment. There is a good chance you will get worthless equipment. Some people may never get it. It's a chance you take.

Anyone with confirmation on if Aura of Intimidation works on all D or just LBs?

From what Bort has said, unless it says "only works at position X", then it will work (like Line General). He confirmed that Aura does not work on offense, so it should be valid for all defensive players.

Ive got a +3 on one of my DT's and not a single play was sent his way..i think the LG went back to the huddle and told em its a no go.

Some confusion here, since the description says "this LB is so mean ..." I sure hope that doesn't mean its only for LBs since I've equipped it on a NT. Wish Bort would clarify this.

Protector says "Only works when playing the LT position". OLine Gen says "only works when player the center position". DLine gen says only for NT position, field gen says QB only. That's what is restricted.

If it says "this LB" that's just the description. Since some of these SAs were orginally found in the SA trees for ONE position, the description fits that. However, it's not limited unless specifically stated

The only "unspecified" ones are Demoralize, and the defensive intimidation types. Those only work for respective sides of the ball.

Was it ever answered whether or not Aura is always active? For instance, if my LB is covering a TE on a route, does the TE lose morale that whole time when he is running the route, or is it just after he catches the ball and I am near him?

No, it's great for breaking that defensive block after an interception or fumble to get the tackle.

I'd focus all your equipment as an offensive linemen on it.

Does Smooth Operator help. Will it effectively let my player "cheat" even though their are no penalties.

Has anyone looked into whether Shutdown Coverage works for non-CBs (in particular, for a LB)? The description specifies a bonus to the CB, but lacks exclusion text like the specific-position ones have ("Must be playing position X").
