May have actually been worth it's own thread. Post kinda grew from "Holy shit there are a ton of fires" into that.

In the core part of the Black Forest subdivision, firefighters said it has changed from evacuation to search and rescue

Thing is, unlike last year, crews arent running ragged all over the nation. There really isnt that much going on compared to other years. Resources gonna be flowing in like mad when a management team takes over (if they havent already, idk). Id love to get the fuck off our district and get up to those fires.

Also, given that we had the Waldo Canyon last year, the city FD knows their shit and knows how to get a handle on it. It just blew up so ridiculously fast and it was so windy no one could have done anything until now.

last day of school here. last round of students taking their final exam right now. I had joked a couple months ago with one of them about taking their final exam in a recliner. sure enough, he has it on a cart and was rolled in on it. he is now taking his final in extreme comfort.
