You either misread the post and my posting, or you're phoning it in since I've not advocated nor asserted any of that.

Aside from the fact that you're clearly not affiliated with a university in any way now and clearly picture day-to-day proceedings entirely wrong, what in the fuck would it even matter if some professors were liberals? Is there some downfall to being liberal or conservative when teaching factual subject matter? Can you or can I politicize a goddamn tibia when I'm enthusiastically teaching bone markings to future post-grad students?

Could you (too) bother to read the link if you wish to comment on it? I've made no remarks even approaching "No Liberals allowed in academics", so pretending to respond to such imaginary remarks doesn't further the discussion.

Could you (srsly) bother to read my post? I didn't accuse you of saying no liberals were allowed. I said what is the downfall of being liberal or conservative in teaching. How does that translate to "you said no liberals are allowed"

First the GOP is responsible for the ACA, now academics are conservative.

Again, please read the link that you're (allegedly) responding to. Nothing in it really discusses "teaching" by otherwise harmless "liberals".

I'm not asking the article a question, I'm asking you a question. How does political affiliation remotely matter when teaching?

Is this a serious question?

The article didn't assert that. Why not discuss that elsewhere if that's what you're interested in knowing?

for example, anyone who honestly thinks that the claim "the average campus already skews left" is somehow self-evident likely never went to university themselves.

You're not really debating that are you?

you're not really asking me if i claimed what i claimed, are you?

I mean there have been polls aplenty that back that assertion.

That won't kill it, in and of itself, but it is a fact.

anyone who honestly thinks that claim is a fact likely never went to university themselves.

if by "much" you mean 'some', then whatever. but if by "much" you mean 'most', then now you get to explain to me exactly how liberal you think the average provost or regent is. part of your disconnect is that you seem a little fuzzy about what precisely academia entails, though i'll admit it's a common misperception..

"I'm not talking about the article, I asked you a question"
"Well the article"

Congratulations on losing 2 arguments in 2 different threads in like a 10 minute span. And no, pretending or saying you didn't lose won't change the fact that you did.

Are you capable of having a thought without someone spoon-feeding it to you first?
