Eastern Conference Power Rankings: -someone else will have to do this for the west, took me too long to do these
fyi - opponents true win/loss record is what the record would be if they never played that team. For example, NY's opponent's win/loss record is 22-27, but if NY (7-0) had never played those teams the win/loss record would be 22-20.
#1 NY Steel Heads (7-0), opponent true win/loss (22-20)NY has been cruising so far and gets the top spot over Orlando because of the tougher schedule so far and convincing wins against the Colorado Storm, Chicago CBMB, Chicago Grizzlies, and the French Lick.
Up Next: #7 DC warriors (4-3). A team that started off the season 0-2, but has since won 4 of its last 5 to reach 4-3.
#2 Colorado Storm (6-1), opponent true win/loss (19-23) What? A one loss team ahead of an undefeated team? Colorado gets this spot because their only loss has been to NY, while the Chicago CBMB victory is a more convincing win than Orlando's win over the Care Bears. Other Key Win: #7 DC
Up Next: unranked Miami (0-7). This game should be ugly, but Colorado did have trouble putting away West Bend last week. If they have trouble against Miami, they may drop below Orlando in the rankings.
#3 Orlando Pirates (7-0), opponent true win/loss (18-24) Another undefeated team in the east, they've had convincing wins over DC, Care Bears, and the Grizzlies. They just miss the #2 spot since Colorado beat #4 Chicago CBMB and Orlando's best win has been against the #6 Care Bears.
Up next: The Game of the week against #5 Minnesota Drillers. A win here and a poor showing by Colorado and Orlando will take over the #2 spot.
#4 Chicago CBMB Bears (6-2), opponent true win/loss (24-18) They're 2 losses have come against top ranked #1 NY and #2 Colorado, but the win over the Minnesota Drillers and the hardest schedule among ranked teams so far secures them the #4 spot. Other key win: French Lick (4-3)
Up next: Battle of the Windy city as they take on the #8 Chicago Grizzlies. A win here will help solidify their spot in the top echelon of the west before they take on #7 DC next week.
#5 Minnesota Drillers (6-1), opponent true win/loss (18-24) Yes, they only have 1 loss but that loss came to #4 Chicago CBMB and their best wins have come against #7 DC warriors (4-3) and the #6 Care Bears (5-2).
Up next: The game of the week against the #3 Orlando Pirates. A win here and they mess up my rankings behind all belief.
#6 Care Bears (5-2), opponent true win/loss (20-22) Losses to #3 Orlando and #5 Minnesota seal the Care Bears in the #6 spot as their only resume win is against the #8 Chicago Grizzlies.
Up Next: Unranked Cleveland. This should be ugly and the Care Bears are likely already looking ahead to French Lick in a week and #2 Colorado in 2 weeks.
#7 DC Warriors (4-3), opponent true win/loss (23-19) They started of the season with 2 losses to #3 Orlando, and #5 Minnesota before wining 4 of the last 5 with the only loss to #2 Colorado. A convincing wing against the French Lick as well as the 2nd toughest schedule amongst ranked opponents so far puts them in the #7 spot.
Up Next: #1 NY Steelheads. A win or respectable showing here will show if DC has really progressed from the early season losses and a bad loss will show that they belong right here.
#8 Chicago Grizzlies (4-3), Opponent true win/loss (21-21) All 3 losses have come to respectable teams (#1 NY, #3 Orlando, and #6 Care bears), but they don't have any resume wins yet as the best win is against cross-town rivals the Chicago LMG. They get the final spot in the rankings due to a tougher schedule than French Lick or Pennsylvania.
Up next: #4 Chicago CBMB. Please don't win, it would really mess up my rankings
On the outside looking in: French Lick (4-3): They've lost to respectable teams (#1NY, #4 CBMB, and #7 DC), but they haven't beaten a team with more than 1 win. Up next is Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Lion (3-4): They've had a tough road so far losing to the Grizzlies, Care Bears, Orlando, and Minnesota, but don't have any resume building wins as they haven't beaten a team with more than 1 win. Up next French Lick.
