Maybe I misunderstood but I think he was complaining about going from a getter to a giver. Fair share takes on a different meaning depending on which side of that coin you are on.

Here's the thing though. Trickle down Reganomics doesn't work for the same reason trickle up charity doesn't. It requires that EVERYONE is working towards the goal. Humans will be humans and if you give a lazy person a path to laziness, then that's the path they'll walk. If you give a greedy person a path to more greed, that's the path they'll walk. Without regulations/checks and balances to weed out those that are taking advantage of the rules meant to help, then you get corruption of the system and it doesn't work well. Oh, it'll work but never well enough to succeed at the levels where people accept it as a good program. Which is why people get pissed about these programs.

I have the costs regardless. I'll take the slightly lower taxes happily.

Ask the many civilizations that have fallen from revolutions that rose up from the few greedy controlling everything while for everyone else (the poor) it just got worse and worse. I think Americans tend to think that'll never happen to them. Funny... that's exactly what the other civilizations said too.

Yes, agreed they purposefully picked the methodology that resulted in the lowest percentage possible, reason be damned. Defo not biased.

So let's just completely ignore the same failed results from LITERALLY EVERY OTHER STATE THAT HAS DONE IT. FACE IT DUDE, POOR PEOPLE ARE OFTEN TOO POOR TO AFFORD DRUGS.

I'd guess for the same reason you sit around handwringing about what people on welfare are doing with their time and money.

Poor people are often poor because of drugs. Just sayin. Hard to find a good job when you can't pass a drug test.

On a side note: It is also sad to see homeless people around town smoking cigarettes. Can't be that desperate to panhandle if you can afford a cigarette habit.
