Umm...no. The LT should block straight ahead which would be the DE on a 5 man front.

GE is correct. It is just broke. Under no circumstance should the ROT and TE be doubling the DE on the strong side. That is the problem. The DE on the weak side is just left alone for entirely no reason but to give the LOG a job that is entirely wrong by all accounts.

I wouldn't hold your breath though. These formations have been borderline useless for a long time for that very reason.

I think some teams run those plays just so they can blame them when they lose.

Sure, but it is still wrong.

What? You know how many yards I lost due to that play? And EEA would have scored less with me having the ball more. I probably avg 4 YPC if that play worked.

Not me. I actually thought it would kill evasive DEs on a 5 man front. At least that is what the play art depicts.

The fact that you relied on that play so heavily is no fault but your own. If you had scouted it more you would have seen it has flaws. Even if you averaged 4 ypc you still would have lost. You struggled to contain EEA for most of the game.

GE should combine with BEEF imo. I have no desire to care about the running game anymore.

You wouldn't have gained 4 YPC against them even if a blocker picked up the DE on that play.
