I have watched many Brood games and while Villentretenmerth is having a great season, he is no Holieway (1866 rushing yards) when it comes to rushing. Villentretenmerth has 1200 rushing yards on the season but he racked up half of those yards in 2 games.

I distinctly remember Boston Blue Jays game because I was shocked to see him gain 410 yards when he was averaging well under 50 yards per game before that. Of course, that all depends on the game plan too, as he didn't run much in some games.Ye. He's not a true every-down rushing threat, a la Holieway or Freddy Krueger, but it's enough that he adds an element to counter very specific defensive play calls, as you pointed out from those games. For me, the big thing about QB runs is not so much their reliability, but rather their ability to punish man-coverage stacked boxes and blitzes harder than any other play. Against a man defense, every team has to think twice about overcommitting to the inside run or pass (the two things I'd rather do, as they are more reliable and predictable), because if a QB rollout ever breaks free it's basically the easiest way to get 80 yards.
Only exception is it's not great against Middle Overload, as the pinched DTs often shoot the gap left open by the pulling guard and even the fastest rushing QBs struggle to get enough separation. Unlike pitch plays, you don't need blitz awareness to recognize a rushing QB, so it usually ends up in a TFL. Thus, if iRock really wanted to cover all his bases...
he'd call Middle Overload on every play, from every formation. But is he
el puto amo? Does he have the cojones?
