Super Casual - Like Bort has going in Suggestions
Peewee - Current Peewee

That actually sounds nice because it gives a good blend of options for all types of owners....is this what you are looking at?

Yes, something along those lines.

This sounds like the Best Plan of all !!!! Hope it takes effect !!!

Go with the original financial and training plans.

i'd be able to adapt to just about any change as long as it doesn't limit teams from being able to sign who they want to sign. if dots can't play where they want to play you've lost sight of one of the basic fundamentals of this game.

Deterioration's main purpose was to not allow you to just buy everything and sit on it. I was figuring there'd be an "auto-referb" option for it so you don't have to think about it if you don't want to.

Sounds like I still need to use Quickbooks to make sure I have enough cash in the bank at the end of the year. Right now I just make sure my total cash is greater than my seasons player salaries.

Hey I will design you an excel application that will be specifically designed for it... for a price of course. I mean I am a business.

I actually use to use one back in the old days and fill it out all the time to keep it up to date. But with no real export system it was a lot of work. I used it mainly when I was building out the stadium so that i wouldn't go in the negative.

Oh and this was when you could go millions and millions in the negative in a season But I never went negative because I felt it was not part of the game and not fair.

In fact, here is the google doc that I used for seasons 2, 3, and part of 4 just to make sure I had money for players, stadium, and equipment (prior to the EQ fund which is a true blessing)

My financial sheet

The reason there is a salary cap in the NFL is to encourage parity. So many people were in favor of a lower roster limit because they thought it would help spread the talent around. Now, this sort of thing will help spread talent around in a manner very similar to the NFL, and people are against it?

You won't have super teams - Good. It forces those teams who form networks and bring hoards of top level players on to one team from doing that. I can see how you'd be frustrated, but it just seems that we have a Yankees type thing going on. If you're good, you go to a good team, only making the rich get richer type situation. You'll still be able to field a top notch team, but just not with these super mergers.

You won't be able to have teams of friends - Yes, you will. Do you have 56 friends on GLB that you'd like to be on a team with? If you have 55 or fewer, you could easily be on a team with all of your friends. Hell, I'd rather run my team all by myself and compete AGAINST some of my friends, but that's different. You'll still be able to field a team with friends, just maybe not as many players per agent as before, if they're top notch players.

A salary cap is a very real thing, and if we were able to tie player salary into effective level, I'm in favor of this 100%. Are there flaws in my logic? Quite possibly, but I know you'll all let me know about it.

The NFL salary cap isn't based on how good a player is. It's based on a max team salary and players can sign for what ever salary they want. High salary or low salary. Plus they have collective bargaining. Do you want that too???????????????

LOL @ the tools that have huge networks whinning that they like the first changes better.Go play simm city if you love the original proposed changes.
Now,put the crack pipes down and get rid of this effective level crapola.
If anyone thinks that they're gonna force me or my real life friends into not being able to play on the same teams together;poker night will just have to turn into nights.Xtra 100+ dollars a month will come in handy at the casino too

I Hated the fact morale/conf was tied into salary, but that was playable, and a strategy. This just destroys the dynamic of the game.

Glb's biggest strength is its community based MMO enviroment. Change #5 completely destroys that, and makes this game absolutely worthless.

VERY TRUE

awful idea...come on...don't wimp out...just go with your original plan!

It's amazing. Again the silent majority lose out.

It is definitely time to rage-quit.

Knew they'd cave. Not a good business model.

Proving once again that if you don't like/want to understand something (even before it is released) start a roit (easy as pie on the internet, esp GLB forums) and you get your way.

Weak, weak, weak.

College players going to the NFL don't get to choose their team initially unless they're passed over in the draft or sit out a season. Why do it much different here? The draft is an integral part of real football so why not implement it here to accomplish the same thing it does in real life, improve parity? I can accept that as a part of GLB much easier than all these convoluted attempts at parity. Let's build an accurate American football sim or just acknowledge that GLB will only be loosely based on the real experience and filled with GLB eccentricities instead. I understand we can't immediately implement every detail of real life football but is it a goal and which parts of the real experience should be focused on?

Bort & Co., I just don't think y'all are getting it. This is getting further and further away from becoming a realistic sim to enjoy building realistic players and focused on the accuracy of the game sim in simulating real game options and results. Where do you get the idea that the complexity "hardcore" players are looking for is in playing with finances, stadiums, or layers of unrealistic boosts or penalties to performance. Just give us an equal amount of resources to work with to start and let us apply our football knowledge to field a team of players and focus on game play decisions.
The perspective that those wanting more detailed control over actual game parameters(hardcore) should also be forced to accept more non-game related cruft to get onto the field and compete and those who don't accept the extra off-field work must not want a more detailed, realistic game experience tells me you just aren't getting it. I'M HERE TO PLAY FOOTBALL. All this extra stuff only needs to be developed as dictated by the core goal of reproducing an accurate game experience modeled after real American football. You guys are too much into the RPG aspects of the sim and are not focused on the accuracy of the actual player build and game play options. You'll be forever fighting the same problems until you adopt most of the same solutions found in real life. If you want to go to the Pros you must submit to a draft process or sit out for a length of time to obtain FA status to go where you want. I'd like to build players to only come and play for my own team but it's not realistic to American football. Why reinvent the wheel? Just mimic as closely as possible the core football game experience found in the real world and only use off-field non-game activities and choices to support the core experience as needed.
The balance of time spent trying to play football as GLB seems to think it should be experienced as opposed to being able to play something with a resemblance to the real life games is falling further and further towards learning GLBball and less and less towards being able to apply real football knowledge.
Anyone want to take over a Pro team? I can't just walk away from the players on the team but I just don't see this game going in a direction that I want to participate in anymore. A realistic American football sim focused on actual game play accuracy does not appear to be the goal here. Too much here is just pure fantasy with no resemblance to real life. Might as well play WoW or something.

Is anyone even reading the information in these damned OP's? You can control the players salaries by renegotiating them Sweet Jesus people read the information until you retain it, then post a question/comment/ragequit blah blah blah.
