The nomination process CAN be random, but the random people who get put up I doubt will get many votes. I agree we should do 1 position a day starting soon. It will make it a lot easier to check out all the candidates.

Alright heres my idea for this. Have 1 representative of each team in both conference, either gm or owner, make a pick for a player from each team. But not pick one from his. This way everyone has to look at the other teams and pick somebody. Then we can narrow it down and see what positions were picked and who was picked.

Then we can do a voting process or something.

This way all teams get seen and not only by there own owner.

Obviously the slow build teams probably won't have anyone in the end nominated for the final cut. But this makes it a little better.

And also make something about having a player from each of the top 8 teams participating in the team. Something like that so all the top teams have one player on the final team.

I don't know. Thats just my thoughts.

Just 1 player from each team though? It seems like this bulk method is the best way to get the most nominees out there, for non-glamour positions too.

I think the idea with 1 position per day is good. Maybe start doing that right after the regular season?

Well for the first time yes 1 player from each team and then we can see whats out there. Maybe you think your QB is the best in the league where as I see that your LB is the best. So maybe we will have close to a full roster.

And by most of the teams we have a pretty close to the same level and talent so it would be pretty close to fair.

Then after that we can go to another way where each representative nominates someone else.

Or we could go a way where each representative nominates a player from each position. The catch being that he has to nominate a player from each of the top 8. And then he can't nominate one of his own.

That could be another way of doing it. Then once all the nominations are in we vote. And everyone gets a vote for each position but again can't vote on their own player. Unless something seems right of course.

This prevents any self promotion and any arguments involved. Whoever the league believes is best. Will get on. And each team will have somebody on if they had a successful season.

Not sure if we're still doing this, but i now own 7 last posts, and I wanted to make it 8. This was particularly tough, because statistically, the Musketeer defense doesn't look so great. Game tapes and player profiles should tell a little more of the nominees and their background. Agents, feel free to mention anything else I may have missed. Without further adieu, here are Puvirnituq's Defensive Nominees:

1. DT Jerome Browne
2. CB Sir Picksalot
3. SS Les Drew

There were 2 other linemen that I considered: DEs Daniel Cuconati and Jon Bueno, but Browne got the nod. Brownie leads the line with 43 tackles (10 TFL), 6 hurries 4 sacks, and 2 FF. Coocoo leads the team with 5 sacks, and 5 hurries but only averages 30 plays per game after the offseason signing of free agent Jon Bueno. Bueno has 38 tackles (7 TFL), 7 hurries, 4 sacks, and 1 FumRec.

Les Drew leads the team with 70 tackles (2 TFL), 16 pass deflections and 1 FF. Last season's MVP, returns as defensive captain, and has shown he is the toughest SS in the league. His playoff experience should help Puvi go deep in the playoffs this season.

Puvi has put together a very talented defensive backfield with several talented corners and safeties. Chris Hansen's CB, Sir Picksalot, joined the team for week 2, and has stood out as a top threat ever since. He has racked up 6 INTs (72 return yards), 14 PDs, and 42 tackles. People often say CBs shouldn't have a high tackles count, but Picksalot's takles don't come from blown coverages, but from stepping up to stop the run or helping out another defender. This was the toughest position to nominate for because there were 2 other Muskies who deserved the nomination. Marvin McLoo and Teddy Laurent had a combined 82 pass deflections, 89 tackles, and 5 INTs. Each has had an amazing season deserving of pro-bowl recognition, and are 2 main reasons Puvirnituq has one of the top defenses in the league.

Just watch the Quebec/Puvi game tape if any doubts on Les Drew

Les Drew had 4 tack, 1 FF, and 1 FumRec in the final game of the year.
Can I give a shout out to my FS Hairy Taint? I would have loved to nominate him for the pro bowl too, he finished with 33 tackles, 14 deflections, 2 INTs, 1 FumRec, and a defensive Touchdown. Probably not the best in the league, but after watching this play today, I couldn't let it go unmentioned: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=111058&pbp_id=7884966

Should definitely be an East vs. West. Maybe make a new thread for each position?
