Even Amongst So Much Change, Some Things Remain the Same.
Diabolicals Win Season Opener 26-3.

There were new team members suiting up for the first time in black, eager to compete for their new home. There was the brand new section in the corner of "The Lair", filled with crazed Diebo's Henchmen, raucously waiting to welcome home thier favorite team. And, there were the new opponents, the Off-Topic Dusty Bakers, members of USA A2, the Diabolicals new league after their well publicized move from the quieter Oceania AA.
But, despite all the newness, some things remained the same. The game had methodical drives for touchdowns, for example. And, Rake "the Snake" Rincher looking like an MVP candidate again. There was the familiar touchdown music of Thor "the Thunder God" Tartabull playing over the loudspeakers. And there was the the constant roar of approval from the fans, who barely sat in their comfy seats since they were so busy honoring their heroes.
Since last seasons loss in the second round of the playoffs, on the road, the Dread City fans have waited patiently to see what would both the new, and the old, of their favorite "evil" ballclub. And, while the final score, a near shut out of the once potent Off-Topic offense, may have seemed a little different to those who watch this team closely, the message it sent was a familiar one: The Diabolicals are here to play...and the rest of the league better take notice.
Of course, the true DC fans knew that already. For them, it was the same old story, told in a different way, but with the same old ending....Diabolicals win!
