Baffling, just bogs my mind those guys wouldnt do this. Or even popular streamers that stream the dumbest crap and try to make the games sound fun.

Could it be cost? What does this game cost compared to other online games? This is the only online game I play so I have no idea.

But yeah, I don't know. That's also more of a "global" idea for a game, though from what I can tell most sim games on Steam and elsewhere are more local? Like you mostly just play with your buddies and set up a league without a lot of engagement from the userbase as a whole. I still sorta feel that works and is interesting if leagues are locally hosted but you can potentially pull players from anyone. I don't know. There's a lot to think about anyway, and no guarantee it can/will ever happen, but it's something I spend a lot of time thinking about.

Yeah they are mostly local...I was thinking you all could make a Steam game that I'd buy/install/host on my own that others log into kinda like Madden Online Franchise does instead of you all providing the servers for everyone. The League GM sets up the game/season/dynasty rules, sets dates for game plan submissions/game sims/recruiting/drafting, etc etc. Make it all customizable and that jazz...that being said, you could also run your own "Official" Leagues too, or just do an official ladder that doesn't take league games into effect or what have you. Your idea for players to be universal between leagues would be cool I think. Blood Bowl had an open Market similar to that I believe.

Games I'm referencing I think you all would dominate are like Pro Strategy Football 2021, Front Office Football Eight, Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2021, Draft Day Sports: College Football 2021 etc etc.

Maybe? I mean people can throw up some referral links and see what happens.

The audience is primarily like, older guys that play fantasy football. I can't imagine it has that much appeal for the tiktok generation, nor does it have appeal for gamers that aren't interested in football. The blended demographic is subtractive, not additive. It's specifically for older football fanatics that are computer savvy enough and have disposable income, but are somehow isolated enough to not have been burnt out on Farmville type games.

Not exactly what "influencers" target to become viral.

We have tried, and gotten no response. So, there's that.

Well advertising costs money. They aren't going to do it for free. But if that is the problem- let's figure out what the amount is and we will start a gofund page and we will all donate to the account to match the cost (hopefully the team at GLB matches the amount or something close).

I advertised a business of mine on a local NFL news podcast for $300 a month and that included a spot on their website. In some cases it's really not that expensive.

I'd recommend finding out what these guys charge https://www.thefantasyfootballers.com/. If anyone else has some good ideas for places to advertise with and their costs drop them here.

Targeting current/former football coaches seems like a quality marketing opportunity for this game too (beyond "gamers"). I fall into this category and really don't play any video games other than GLB2 BECAUSE it closely resembles the coaching experience/feel.

Good call. GLB2 is the only video game I play. I love the sport and I like how this game offers strategy for GM/Coaching/Player items.

I agree. I coached for 17 years (basketball) and run football and hockey pools for 20 years (and counting) and GLB2 is both the most fun and frustrating thing I do.

Mostly the frustration comes because game improvements happen at a glacier's pace. But, it's still better than anything else I've found so far.

But, also owning a business, I know advertising ain't cheap. So, I think it's on us users to actively find places to get the word out. Tell these podcasters, tell influencers, tell anyone who could check out GLB and put out the word to their followers to do the same. Find one new person to tell every day (irl or online)

However, the devs also need to be more active so we don't have games that are stuck for literally a week. Add playoffs for all so we're getting some more games in a season. Have a quick-start, new player guide that's easy to find and is up to date. Heck, the only reason I'm still here is because I was persistent trying to figure out what to do. Certainly not because the game made things easy to understand.

Let's grow this thing!
