Since when is competition about being fair?

The league cap gets lifted at the end of the season and other teams will recruit to get better - a lot better in some cases. No one is forcing you to get rid of your team but if you want to stay highly competitive with the other teams around you, you will recruit better players regardless if you're promoted or not. If you're happy with your team and don't want to recruit new people, that's fine too. No one is forcing you to recruit; however, don't expect an admin to decree that the rules can be bent for you simply because you don't want to face teams that are better than you. It's going to happen regardless of promotion or not, esp. if you don't want to recruit.

Promotion in most cases isn't a reward, it's a new challenge. If you want a reward, go buy a cookie.

This talk about AA being full of level 20s is crap.

I dont believe that if my side went up we would lose 100 - 0 each week.

We would struggle agasint the top sides but believe we can win a few and hold onto AA with a few key additions.

The side coming 3rd last in AA 4 has 1 player at level 22 starting and the rest of the starters between level 14 and 18.

With some boosters and key additions a solid side in A can win some games at that level IMO.

Hmm average lvl in Canda A is about 8 vs average lvl in Canda AA is about 16.



May not be full of lvl 20's but we are not full of lvl 13's. However there is still a BIG avg lvl gap between the 2.

Good thing all the teams that are bringing down the average aren't the ones that have a chance to get promoted.

Every league has teams bringing the average down.

How many teams will get Promoted? (I don't have time to read through the posts) If we could, it'd make sense to create another A level league and put all the winners in there (along w/ maybe the demotions from AA). From what I've gathered, it'd still be a weaker division than most other Non-Canada A leagues (w/o the demotions, not sure what several demoted teams going in would do).

I signed. I think we should get a full season of uncapped management before we worry about getting promoted.

Full disclosure: My team isn't in any danger of being promoted but I agree with the principal of the OP

Then what's the point of arguing for an uncapped year? It's the exact same scenario - some teams will go out and hire a whole squad of 20s in the offseason. A team with Season 3 starters will not be competitive with teams with Season 2 starters, just as the Season 2 guys are only minimally competitive with the Season 1 folks. You have to start pushing level 20 before builds and gameplanning can override a multiple level disparity at all positions.

We are starting from a level playing field...whereas if promoted you start that far behind all your competition. Additionally with promotion, we are guaranteed that at least one team (the relegated AA team) will come in and start at that level.

You cant cap leagues because teams move up and down. If the AA division moves down do you want them to release all their players to accomodate the cap? Hows that fair?

I have player on AA#4 and our reserves would be better than most A teams because we have been together for 2 years. I'm not trying to denigrate anyones team, It is what it is. We deserve another year in A to catch up.

my hb has been playing on a team that won 2 games last year and 4 this year. The team is in an aaa league, and most other teams outlevel us by 3+.

How does averaging negative yards a carry for the entire year sound to everyone? At one point my .7 yards a carry was 2.0 better than anyone else on the team. Qb, how does getting sacked 7 times a game sound? How about a team running up 85 pancakes on you while your o line gets 0?

Its not going to be fun. Its not going to be rewarding. Whoever gets promoted will be destroyed 80% of the time and the worst part...you might not get to move back down the year after.

To all the challenge guys that are optimistic about moving up...go make a new player right now, boost him to 4 and start him on your good a team right now at qb or at rb and see how much your team rejoices when he blows the game for you. Now extrapolate that times 40. Gosh, how fun would that be?
