Miami/Madison game still in progress, but I know we're going to get hammered... I stopped watching after the 1st Q. I totally flubbed tactics (ttempting to introduce defensive outside plays effed up everything) and even put in the wrong depth chart on D fml I haven't done that in like 3 seasons.

I can't do stupid sh like that if I want to finish top 5.

The thing we've done the last two seasons we used to not previously do (the previous 5 seasons or so), was to blow games against teams we should be able to beat handily...

We still have great games (beat DA and Bronx this year, for both of them, their only loss), but then flub tactics (btw i'm never mixing blitz, non blitz, inside, and outside plays EVER again) or just have a no-show against teams we should crush. We've done it once this season (Miami), twice last season (SAG and Green Bay)... consistency (especially on defense)is something I really need to work on. Maybe i need to be more conservative defensively against teams I'm confident I can beat and not try to over-think things.

I think I really need to find a defensive coordinator (who only gameplans against run teams)

maybe I'm wrong - but my perception tells me there is a lot more parity in the game now than there was in past seasons.

Vet gets a fun set of matches this round. Everyone inside the top 10 is playing each other with the exception of the Bronx Bombers. This means that 5 of the top 11* teams are going to lose tomorrow**.

#1 DA vs #10 AK
Last Meeting: N/A

Animal Kingdom started the season fast winning their first seven games and claiming the #1 spot. Since then they have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Their offense has been inconsistent against top competition. In their last four games against top competition they are only averaging 15 points per game.
Notable Wins: BSB, Madison, Hostile
Losses: MEM, Hawaii, DD

DA lost a heartbreaker to Madison in our 2nd league game this season and have gone on to win our last 8 games.
Notable Wins: Freakville, LogZilla, MEM
Losses: Madison

There is a trend when looking at AK's wins and losses this season. They are strong against pass heavy teams and more vulnerable against everyone else. Due to this I am picking DA. DA wins 34-20

#2 DD vs #4 MEM
Last Meeting: N/A

DD has been hot since the end of last season, winning 16 of their last 17 games. Parab00n has his defense playing more consistent and they have been turnover forcing monsters. Mix that with a balanced top 10 offense and you have a great mix.
Notable Wins: BSB, Hawaii, AK
Losses: Hostile

MEM has been a top contender for their entire existence and this season is no different. Their HB's are tackle breaking machines and their run defense is elite. They will face their fair share of challenges this season due to being in the stacked Hydrogen league, so just add this game to the list.
Notable Wins: LogZilla, Central, AK, Madison
Losses: Hawaii, DA

DD seems most vulnerable against pass heavy teams since they depend on turnovers more in those scenarios. Against a rush heavy team like MEM I think b00n will come up with a good gameplan to slow them down. DD wins 28-17

#3 Bronx vs #18 Miami Sharktopus
Last Meeting: N/A

Bronx is the reigning #1 ladder champ and have continued to play well this season. Sov made some roster moves in the offseason to adjust to the current sim. If there were any chemistry issues they were masked by getting a very soft early season schedule. They have started to play some tougher teams lately though.
Notable Wins: BSB, Hawaii
Losses: Madison

Miami shocked the world when they took down Madison a few days ago and they also played MEM pretty tough. With that said they are only 6-5 this season and aren't a top contender.
Notable Wins: Madison
Losses: Zombie, DA, Central, MEM, Hawaii

Although Miami has the ability to surprise some people I think they are overmatched in this one. Bronx wins 38-14

#5 Hawaii vs #6 Freakville
Last Meeting: Freakville won 52-21 last season
Series tied at 2-2

Hawaii has lost their last two ladder matches but still find themselves in the top 5 since they have won every other game this season. They feature the #1 defense in yards allowed and #2 defense is points allowed. On offense they are still working in a new QB, but with chemistry getting closer to 100 they might have some more consistency offensively.
Notable Wins: MEM, Central, AK
Losses: DD, Bronx

Freakville has won their last 5 games after losing back to back games to DA and Robot Lords. When I was looking up their previous results against Hawaii I was shocked at how badly they beat Hawaii last season. Not sure if that was when Boss was inactive or not at that time though. Either way, they are currently #3 in point differential and have the potential to beat any team in the tier on a good day.
Notable Wins: Hostile
Losses: Robot Lords, DA

This one is a toss-up, but with Freakville winning the last 2 matches against Hawaii I will give them a slight edge in a low scoring game. Freakville wins 17-16

#7 Central vs #10 LogZilla
Only previous meeting: Central won 49-21 last season

Central is still a solid team but doesn't seem to be quite as powerful as they were last season when they started 22-2 and sat at #1 in the ladder for quite a while. They are 11-7 since then and don't have a signature victory yet this season.
Notable Wins: None
Losses: MEM, Robot Lords, Hawaii

LogZilla was once known as having an elite passing offense and a run stopping focused defense. Their offense is still great but they no longer have that strong rush defense. Not sure if it's build related or gameplan related, but even with a run defense lolbar of 100 they have struggled to slow down teams like MEM, DA and Central. This is LogZilla's 4th season at vet and unfortunately all Xars' players will be hitting legend. I will personally be sad to see LogZilla leave the veteran tier but hopefully Xars will make a new and better version next season. For now let's see if he can finish the season strong and get another trophy or two to add to LogZilla's legacy.
Notable Wins: None
Losses: MEM, DA, Marvel

After looking at the result from last season and LogZilla's results against the run lately it is hard to pick against Central in this one. Central wins 41-28

#8 Madison vs #9 Hostile
Last Meeting: Madison won 57-6 last season
Series tied at 1-1

Back when Madison first entered vet the field went uphill both ways. A lot has changed since then but Madison has been a top contender all along the way. It has been pretty impressive considering all the roster turnover. With that said, Madison has not been quite as consistent the past season and a half. As Tddidy mentioned, they sometimes lose games that they would have never lost before. I'm curious what they will do this offseason now that Candice is in her final season.
Notable Wins: DA, Bronx
Losses: AK, Miami, MEM

Hostile has been a good team since arriving to vet last season. They will occasionally pick up some nice wins but don't quite possess the same consistency of the teams at the top of the tier. Anyone who doesn't gameplan correctly against them on defense is bound to get completely torn apart. Their TE El Cunado has put up some of the best seasons of all-time by a TE.
Noteable Wins: DD
Losses: BSB, AK, Freakville

I'm sure Tdiddy has been extra motivated after his back to back losses to Miami and MEM. From looking at last season's result I think he can find the right recipe to win this game comfortably. Madison wins 41-20

*LogZilla and AK are tied at #10
**Unless there is a tie

We have a replacement that will be just as good, if not better.

nice write-up btw. I agree with all your predictions except I have Hawaii over Freakville.

I've been dealing with interviews and job appications the last few days... hopefully I can get some decent game study in before hostile tomorrow, could be a tight one
