I played online all the time years ago (top 1000 on the leaderboard back in '05 and '13) and it's not different now than it was back then. People who continuously go for it on 4th are extremely annoying from a competitive stand point. What's the point in playing if the guy you're playing against is doing stuff like that. Usually if I see people cheesing plays or going for it all the time on 4th, or going for 2 all the time then I'll nano them just to piss them off right back. Granted I don't intend to do that in this league since I'd rather enjoy my experience in this league but I'd prefer to play within the frame and unwritten rules of the game.

yeah im not sure what to do about that cuz as it stands right now you can get a pretty realistic outcome (all of our stats and scores are very on point from what i've seen - mostly around 200-300 yard per team per game with around 30ish hb touches and scores in the 20s and 30s) but my 2nd game vs atlanta there was 16 mph winds and throwing over 12 yds was impossible unless you threw a line drive. should be fun once someone plays the pats in feb in 24 mph winds and snow
league update:
1. Diddy (Lions) 2-0 (89 PF - 49 PA) **1 win over Irish
2. Rob (Seahawks - go figure?) 2-0 (48 PF - 35 PA)
3. Irish (Vikings) 2-1 (65 PF - 59 PA) **1 loss to Diddy
4. Dark (Dolphins) 2-0 (27 PF - 16 PA)
5. Sov (Giants) 2-1 (82 PF - 47 PA)
6. Bueno (Steelers) 2-1 (72 PF - 61 PA)
notable stats:
(Steelers) Le'veon Bell - 55 rush for 334 yds (league leader)
(Seahawks) Jimmy Graham - 21 rec for 406 yds and 4 TDs (league leader)
(Lions) Matthew Stafford - 118.7 QBR w/ 562 yds and 5 TDs no INTs
(Giants) JPP - 5 sacks (league leader)
(Vikings) Harrison Smith - 28 T, 4 TFL, 1 INT, 4 PDs
(Dolphins) Brent Grimes - 1 INT, 1 PD, 0 catches allowed

You could probably crank up pass accuracy a bit for starters.

Well people would have to already be active on this forum to see this and take part so not sure what you're complaining about. People that play this game likely play Madden anyway plus isn't this game a franchise version of Tecmo Bowl?

What?
People doing something lame for a competitive advantage? I can't imagine anyone doing such a thing.

Still doesn't make it any less annoying and ruining the experience for everyone else in the same process

Yeah, those people are the worst.
Competitive people are always what's wrong with competitive gaming.

Less time arguing with the user base and more time fixing issues with the game please.
Competitiveness is good within the constructs of a fair game but there's a fine line that can be crossed between healthy and unhealthy competitive.

I was actually mulling over an idea in my head for awhile, as a way to separate out the cheesers in a competitive environment.
Was basically along the lines of, the loser gets to rate the enjoyment of the game. In theory, lameness would get rated poorly, and end up playing against lameness.
Granted, that works a lot better in asynchronous play. Synchronous play kind of just has to make due with whoever is available.

It's an idea but I can't help but think that people will just rate their "enjoyment" of the game based on how they performed regardless of how fair their opponent was.

But that line is different for everyone. A lot of people think having a 100% run offense is super cheesy.
Personally, I have a pretty low tolerance for cheese, and is why I generally avoid competitive games.

Well, in theory if people on average perform well against the cheese, then the cheese likely isn't going to be a significant competitive advantage, meaning people probably won't be as drawn to it.
