You aren't really gonna see that at the level the game currently is. Too much competition is thrown off by

GL Spam
WR Screen spam
6-10 Quality pass play spam

As it is noobs come here and are told they don't have the builds to compete. Which is getting silly because there isn't a whole lot of build differential out there one can have. This is why the caps were put on I thought. To make it simpler for the average player to stay within the game and have a place.

Also the DAI is just far too complicated for the average new user. There are a number of options to simplify that and even make it 100% better than it currently is to use. We shouldn't be in season 10 or whatever having discussions between agents that have been here since day 1 over how the DAI works.

That and I could not stress how much the current chem rebuild for a player kills the opportunity for someone to join a team during the season. Sure right now that just looks like me whining about my mid season moves. But I stressed that prior seasons and still will beyond this when my team is sitting at 100%. That is a long penalty to take.

If only there was a guide. This game doesn't offer much in terms of guides for new players.

Ya but should you really need a guide for this basic of a game? Any dummy can pick up the offense and be like oh shit this is easy. But the defense is a damn puzzle of %'s and mish mashed plays. Makes no sense.

Defense is easy for me. It's offense I suck at. Go figure.

Plenty of information to be found if new people put in time digging through old threads. I think the issue for some is just not using the forums at all. The chemistry and searching for a human owned team after the season has begun is a pain if a player just so happens to find or join the site at these times. At that point they do not really get "in it" or get the full effect of what the game is about if they sign to a CPU team and many probably just flat out leave shortly after that as the wait for the next season could be a month away. The hook in this game is when you have players on a human owned team and interacting with people on that team IMO.

Me and you might feel this way because we've been playing since the first season of GLB1, but the completely new player won't

I don't think it is too illogical to look at the OAI and get the exact plays you want within the scope of your package. The average person can figure that out. Being good with it is another story. The average person looking at the DAI is mind numbing. It is mind numbing for me often times as so many plays are interconnected through tags for stupid reasons.

It took me a while to just be okay with the DAI when I came back to this game. Literally took my 2 seasons to really understand it to where I was comfortable to be competitive.

If it weren't for my past in GLB1, I probably would have given up and quit the game due to the frustration of learning on your own without any help of the game what so ever.

I can't think of any other game like this that doesn't have an interactive demo/walk-through guide. Think about that for a second. WoW, Madden, soccer MMO games, etc. all have this.

tbf you are talking about a lot of games with big financial backing and a number of coders. Warrior games is just a mom and pop shop. I number of games I have tried while being around the GLB market are pretty similar in terms of not much to go off of except the forums and sometimes perhaps one of the mods or players putting together a wiki as they went along through the game.

I still can't figure out the DAI. As it is it seems I can pretty much cover one formation exactly how I want to. The others I just use like two plays because nothing matches up quite right. Maybe I want a 3-4 Cover 0 Dogs on 2nd and long out of the 3WR set but I don't want 4-3 Middle Overload on 2nd and long out of the 2WR set. Maybe I want a short run/pass play for 2nd and medium out of the 3WR set but a blitz out of the 2WR set. I know all the experts are going to say they have no problems with the DAI as it is.

To me it seems like they wanted to keep it simple and couldn't figure out how to do it so they just called it good enough.

Due to the tactics not being formation specific, this creates the exact problem you are talking about. I often try to synchronize all formations to work with the tactics, but if that isn't an option I do what you are talking about and just put 2 similarly tagged plays in against certain formations.

Hopefully with a new batch of defensive plays (as well as fixing bugs in current plays) it'll be easier to match tactics across several WR sets.
