My goal was to create plays that fill in current gaps within the playbook. I've updated the images to account for better D player positioning so the old album was deleted and these new images uploaded.
There are no Medium Pass Blitzes out of Nickel.
Nickel Pass Med Blitz –
“SS Go” http://imgur.com/R9Sv3rOThe LBs shift to the Weak Side while the SS moves up to the LOS seemingly to cover the TE. The CBs and FS (covering the TE) are at 8 yard drops. This is a 7 Man blitz that collapses the pocket forcing a quick throw.
Nickel Med Pass Blitz –
“LB Go” http://imgur.com/ffWGaioThe D Line and LBs are in a Spread Alignment. This creates a 6 Man Blitz where each side overloads the G-T forcing the C and HB to communicate on pickups. There’s pressure from both sides of the pocket so the QB can’t rollout. The FS plays a Deep Mid Zone stopping the skinny Posts from the TE & WR3. The CBs and SS are at 8 yard drops.
There needs to be some Med Pass plays that have better coverage on Outside Runs. Until Direction is a subset of Distance, in 3rd and Long situations teams either Run Outside or Pass. Out of the dangers 3WR set, this play covers the receivers while protecting against the outside pitch.
Nickel 3-3-5 Med Pass –
“LB Flats” http://imgur.com/UWMqHFWIt’s a 3 man rush with the MLB taking the HB and the RO-LO covering each Flat. The SS takes the TE and the FS provides single over the top zone to protect/double the skinny Posts. The CBs and SS are at 8 yard drops.
Nickel 3-3-5 is missing an Inside Run Blitz.
Nickel 3-3-5 Inside Run Blitz –
“Safety Smash” http://imgur.com/KY4f7IhThe DLine bunches up. The LBs shift to a Strong Alignment so the LO is heads up on the TE. The FS and SS are 6 yards off the LOS. This puts 8 men in the box to stop the Dives and Slams.
There’s no Dime Med Pass Blitz.
Dime Med Pass Blitz –
“Outside CBs Go” http://imgur.com/ZyIMaFqTypically, your best coverage CBs in 4WR cover the slot WRs (WR3&WR4). This play blitzes the outside CBs (CB1&CB2) who are more hybrid Run-Pass builds and rolls the inside CB coverage outside while having the FS and SS cover the slot WRs. The CBs play 6 yards off with inside position and the FS-SS play 10 yards off with slight inside position. CB1-CB2 turn the 5 Man interior rush into a 7 Man all out Pass Blitz forcing a quick throw.
Dime Med Pass Blitz –
“Inside CBs Go” http://imgur.com/phshzqLThe DLine bunches up while the MLB blitz ties up the C. The interior CBs (CB3-CB4) shade inside and turn a 5 man blitz into a 7 man blitz. The CBs are 6 yards off the outside WRs and the FS-SS are 10yards off the slots; all with slight inside position.
Dime Med Pass Blitz –
“MLB Go” http://imgur.com/EFY3cipThe DLine has a Strong Align with the MLB shifted Weak. This creates a standard 5 man blitz with Weak side pressure from the MLB. The CBs are 6 and 10yards off the WRs with the FS-SS playing Cover 2.
Dime 3-2-6 has no Med Pass Blitz.
Dime 3-2-6 Med Pass Blitz –
“SS Go” http://imgur.com/GZ9qj2tThe DLine bunches up, the LBs shift weak, the SS plays down on the LOS. This creates a 6 man blitz with the FS playing middle zone and the CBs lined up 6 and 10yards off the WRs, with inside position.
5-2 has a limited number of alignments. These are Short Pass plays that shift the LBs.
5-2 Short Pass –
“Weak Shift” http://imgur.com/BxQ0XXDThe Dline aligns weak with the MLB on the outside of the BTE. The high LO spys the HB. CB1 and CB2 hold the outside edge to force the play back inside. The FS-SS team up to cover the TE-GLTE (line wrong but cant do it correctly) in case it’s a strong side play.
5-2 Short Pass –
“Strong Shift” http://imgur.com/ImFlQytThe DLine aligns strong with the LO on the TE and the SS on the GLTE. CBs play outside contain. The high MLB spys on the HB. The FS covers the BTE in case there’s a weak side run.
There are no 5-2 Med Pass plays.
5-2 Med Pass –
“Cover 1 SS” http://imgur.com/ZDmTqa3A straight up DLine with strong align LBs put the LO over the TE and the MLB spying the HB. The CBs and FS play 8 yards off the WRs-TE and the SS plays a Cover 1 zone.
5-2 Med Pass Blitz –
“LB Go” http://imgur.com/1XzdNthThis is the 5-2 LB Dogs play without the dotted lines and with a Med Pass Blitz tag. The secondary has 8 yard drops and the MLB-LO are in a spread alignment to put outside pressure on the pocket and collapse it with a 6 man rush.
4-3 Short Pass –
“Weak CB Fire” http://imgur.com/bePm7nYThe DLine is offset strong with the LBs weak. The FS rotates the cover the WR1 with CB1 blitzing. The SS is assigned to the TE. On a weak run the RO takes on the FB, while the blitzing CB1 and MLB handle the HB.
The standard 4-3 formation needs a RO blitz in passing situations.
4-3 Med Pass Blitz –
“RO Blitz” http://imgur.com/EytISKcThe DLine and LBs are in a spread alignment. The CBs-SS play off 8 yards. The SS is on the TE with the LO on the HB and MLB on the FB. The FS plays Cover 1 in the middle of the field, while the RO blitzes.
4-3 Med Pass Blitz –

3-4 Med Pass Blitz –
“All LB Go” http://imgur.com/xrpaU0uSpread alignment with a 7 man rush. The SS is on the TE with the FS playing Cover 1. The secondary has 4-5 yard drops and inside position. The 7 man rush forces the HB-FB to stay in to block or suffer a hurry/sack. The FS plays with a 10 yard drop but a shorter zone to stop the skinny post or slant routes.

EDIT: The secondary drops can be changed based on coding issues, etc. Smaller drops could be use for Medium plays with larger drops used on a batch of similar Long Pass & Long Pass Blitz plays. You know the code best and should be able to determine optimal "cushion" distance for the CBs, etc.
