Bhall loves to embellish, but he is correct in making the point that they aren't as valuable as offensive S* right now. And I wish they were, all 3 of my S* are Defensive - and they don't impact like offensive S* do.

This hopefully changes at some point, or at least evens a bit.

For example, I wanted to build a Revcake machine DE, thinking he would disrupt more plays.

This dude crushes his blocker 5-10 times a game:

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/101068

Yet has minimal sacks and minimal tackles. Now when his build rounds out and he gets more Speed/Quick/Snap Reaction maybe that will change. But I know realistically speaking, if a DE revcaked a OT 5-10 times a game, he would have better stats than my dude.

If we want "realistic" then Defense would need a boost in places. For instance the highest scoring team in the NFL is averaging 31 points a game, where if we take Air Raid and look at just their ladder games, they are averaging 46 points a game.

Now when we look at when "Good" teams match up, usually we see high scoring affairs. As Adder said in another post, it is hard to keep a good team from scoring less than 30.

The main issue is that most who pay attention to the nuances of the game and might enjoy a tougher defense and less scoring, would be out numbered by the tears that would flow from everyone else if their WR or HB didnt have 4000 yards and 40 TDs.

Part of that is how there are too many plays in each game. Teams don't eat up enough time in between plays.

Not necessarily stop it since that's pretty much impossible but at least contain it. Passing on the other hand you're gonna be hard pressed to find a team that's tailored to contain the pass that will do well. Pressure doesn't do shit to force bad throws against a QB and double and triple coverage doesn't mean much if the QB is dropping dimes whenever he wants. And don't call what I say as stupid, that really pisses me off whether I'm right or wrong in what I'm saying.

Sorry, but it is bs. Win rates/ladder Rank of all tiers show its bull.so Why sell it any different? Ofc defending it is different, but the comment pass is much stronger than run is a lie looking at the numbers

Just from experience I find it much more difficult to contain a 100% pass teams vs a run team. Anecdotal but that's from what I see, not necessarily who's at the top of the ladder at the moment.

well as said...its definitely different. You cant actually do anything vs passing teams, I agree. Triplecoverage? They still catch passes^^

But it gets sorted out more often than not. As said...I wouldnt say either one of them is OP compared to the other. At least since the changes. Inside running was kinda OP last season. got tuned down now. I still dislike those 100% pass/run teams

I can't really blame the 100% teams for going that way. They're just trying to have the best team they can within the confines of the game. It's up to the developers to make a game where balance is the best way to make a team, not the owners.

Agree...much harder to defend passing teams.

I believe the problem with defensive s* is that they dont work solo, you have to compliment them. for example ground assault has 7 defensive s* and that defense is starting to become suffocating for opposing offenses all while running just a 5-2 formation. Start trying to pair defensive s* like 3 s* lbs or a s* secondary and I bet the results will be impressive.

Funny, because I was just thinking about this last night and am in the process of planning out some roster changes for Providence to do this exact thing.

Hopefully I can get the pieces lined up for my plan. Need a few things to happen - but luckily we are still young.

I bet they really won't be all that impressive tbh.
