I've run a bunch of scrims this morning and it seems like the big breaking 50 yard runs aren't happening to my team. These are just scrims so it's not like the other team setup a gameplan to beat us. My team has been giving up a lot of yards still but they seem to be able to avoid blocks or break blocks and stop runs before they give up 50.

The LOT is on me. You've got a fast, evasive DE going wide and an LOT with shit for movement. He's more or less built to beat my OT. That's a good interaction. Since I'm just throwing build secrets out the window this morning, my OTs have like 25 speed/25 footwork/15 quickness. It's been relatively unimportant and has allowed me to pour into the attributes that matter. When people talk about needing their players to add speed/etc. to get to the 2nd level faster, it's shenanigans.

Maizehound,

Can you check to see if your new OOP penalties are affecting TE's lined up at GLTE and BTE? I'm watching my guys who are good blockers getting shoved aside easily when they line up in those positions, and that seems more than anything to be killing the HB sweeps where they are needed.

It'd be a problem on QB Rollout as well, except it looks like the FB or HB is usually picking the guy the GLTE loses and then the GLTE goes downfield and picks up some guy in the secondary. On HB Sweeps, tho, you don't have that extra lead blocker so whoever the GLTE loses, ends up making the play if the back doesn't beat them.

In fact, here's exactly what I'm talking about:

Seems appropriate since I'd consider my team to be THE outside rushing team in GLB. Speedy with 16 rushes for -1.5 yards.

Granted I had the GL HB sweep playbook in, but total whomp

You can see Doinitin's struggles on the other side too, and I had my whore the pass defense in, with tons of 3 man lines and 1 LB sets, lol.

Most of those TFL have nothing to do with the changes, I actually made changes with all of my DE's and thats where most of your TFL occurred. I couldn't run the Spread pitch at all though, but I always have struggled with pitches vs you. I also started using a different defense for GL plays and it helped a lot. All in all when my DE's didn't make a play on your pitches you still ran them well.

Should've just removed the play - none of this was needed.

Xav, I haven't checked to see if you used the same blitz package in the scrim against Air Raid. If you did, I'm gonna go ahead and say the blocking changes don't make it as sexy as you thought it might be. If you didn't, shame on your for wasting 50 of my flex to test your lolbasedefense

OK...this is some BS. This is EXACTLY what I didn't want to happen. So instead of fixing just the goalline plays, they nerfed outside running in general...which hurts NORMAL teams like the Bengals who run I-Form sweeps...

I have been pumping my SS WR with blocking skills and he stills misses his block half the time, but now it will be even worse.

All of the QB rollouts (Iform, Proset, Strong I, Weak I) are getting eaten alive now. The WR's aren't even trying to block...it was a terrible idea to implement this midseason.

All the QB rollouts except GL QB rollout strong have always gotten eaten alive. QB Rollout Strong from goalline is the only QB rollout where the QB allowed the HB and FB to get out in front to block. He outruns them to the edge and get's TFLed almost every time on any other QB rollout. That's not new with the new LB behavior.

Tell that to Atlantic City - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/65704

Again, it was a lolinstascrim but no GLQBRollout was used but CME still had a field day on the outside. This was two days ago.

Uh no... The blocking pathing on the OL on every other QB rollout is so broken that the plays can't be used. Cs/Gs/Ts let players run past their faces and gobble the QB up.

^^^ Yup. My Slow Power DE's seem to have a field day vs. those runs because of this.

Here was the game winner out of Iform in OT -http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/65704/980929

The CBs have no hesitation now and just blow past the oblivious WR...no matter their blocking awareness.
